有人應報紙上刊登的招聘廣告來函應征，然而空缺已經填補，故回信謝絕對方申請。這一類信一般無需多做解釋，也不必表示歉意，直接回復即可。

in...edition 在什么時間出版的刊物
position advertised 所應征的職位
keep...on file for possible future consideration 存檔以備日后可能需要，事實上，這句話暗示了應聘的機會并不大，只是這樣說，即可以緩和對方的心情，也可為將來的招聘留有余地。
