萬圣節 Halloween
Halloween, also known as All Hallows’ Eve, is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31, the eve of the western Christian feast of All Hallows, especially in western countries. But nowadays, it has been more popular in some Asian countries, particularly among young people.
萬圣節，也叫萬圣前夕，是很多國家在每年10月31這天慶祝的一個節日，也是西方基督徒的萬圣盛宴，特別是在西方國家。但是現在，萬圣節在一些亞洲國家已經變得越來越受歡迎，尤其是在年輕人當中。
In modern society, the imagery of Halloween includes themes of death, evil, the occult, mythical monsters, etc. At the same time, Halloween has been a seasonal celebration which is considered as the end of autumn and the beginning of winter.
在現代社會，萬圣節的意象包括諸如死亡，邪惡，神學，怪獸等主題。同時，萬圣節已經成為一個季節的慶祝，被看做是秋天的結束和冬天的開始。
According to the traditional custom, many typical activities will be held on Hallows’ eve. As is known to all, “Trick or treat” is a customary celebration for children on Halloween. Children will go in costume from house to house, asking for treats such as candy (sweets) or sometimes money by asking the question "Trick or treat?". The word "trick" refers to a (mostly idle) "threat" to perform mischief on the homeowners or their property if no treat is given. In addition, there are other activities and games on Hallows’ eve. For example, all kinds of Halloween parties are held by schools or students. Furthermore, bobbing for apples and making Jack-o-lanterns are also the typical games for children.
根據傳統風俗，很多典型的活動在這一天舉行。眾所周知，“不給糖果就搗蛋”是萬圣節這天孩子們的慣例慶祝。孩子們會穿著服裝挨家挨戶通過問“Trick or Treat”這一問題要糖果或錢。“Trick”一詞指的是如果屋主不給東西就威脅對他們實施惡作劇或損壞財產。此外，萬圣節前夕還有其他活動。比如，學校或者學生會舉行各種各種的活動。而且，杰克南瓜燈也是孩子們玩的典型游戲。
As a traditional festival, Halloween has showed many customs and cultures of western countries and brought some joy for children. Besides, it has made some contribution to develop economy and provided an opportunity for people to get along with each other.
作為一個傳統節日，萬圣節展示了很多西方國家的風俗文化，給孩子們帶來了一些樂趣。除此之外，它對經濟發展做出了貢獻，給人們提供了相互相處的機會。
