4. 有關地震的表述
Strong earthquake hits China
A powerful earthquake measuring 7.8 has hit China's southern province of Sichuan, shaking buildings as far away as Beijing, Shanghai and Bangkok.
It was not immediately clear if there were any casualties or damage from the tremor which the the US Geological Survey (UGS) earlier put at 7.8.
The epicenter of the quake was 93 kilometers north of Chengdu.
Rescue efforts are underway in China
relief work （抗震）救災工作
Chinese troops have been mobilized 調動 to carry out rescue operations and emergency aid 緊急救護 has been air-dropped 空降 into areas that have been cut off by the disaster.
helping the relief work by donating 捐獻 food and water for those affected in the surrounding countryside.
Financial aid 經濟救助 has been pouring in 大量涌進 from all over China, with the Chinese government pledging hundreds of millions of dollars. Substantial donations from other countries and humanitarian organizations have also been pledged 承諾，給予（援助）.
Although full casualty figures 傷亡數字 are not yet certain, it is clear that Monday’s earthquake is the worst to strike China since the Tangshan earthquake of 1976.
We felt the earthquake relief is the courage, strength, hope for. The people across the country will not be deterred by this major disaster, there will not be immediate destroyed by the tragedy. We firmly believe that with the party and the government's strong leadership, people of all nationalities throughout the country to aid earthquake relief will be a victory!
