世界變得越來越小了The world's getting smaller
Most of us may have such experiences: when we are far away from the city we live in, we tend to think we know nobody there. But chances are that we may run into one of our old classmates, or friends on the street. At that moment, we would cry out: "What a small world!"
Why is the world getting smaller and smaller? For one thing, modern technology has made various means of transportation more and more advanced. Buses, trains planes, taxis, ships are available in most cities of the world. They carry goods and passengers to and from every corner of the world. For another, with the development of the society, people are contacting with one another more frequently. Everyday we must come across a lot of people known or unknown to us. The more advanced a society is, the more contacts with others we make.
So we draw the conclusion that as long as technology makes progress, the world will be getting smaller and smaller.
我們大多數(shù)人可能有這樣的經(jīng)歷：當(dāng)我們遠(yuǎn)離我們生活的城市，我們傾向于認(rèn)為我們在那里沒有認(rèn)識的人。但很有可能我們會在街上遇到我們的一個老同學(xué)或朋友。在那一刻，我們會驚呼：“這個世界真是太小了！”
為什么世界變得越來越??？首先，現(xiàn)代科技使各種交通工具越來越先進(jìn)。公共汽車、火車飛機(jī)、出租車、船舶可以在世界大多數(shù)城市通行。它們從世界的每一個角落運送貨物以及乘客。另一方面，隨著社會的發(fā)展，人們之間的聯(lián)系更頻繁。每天都要遇到很多我們已知或未知的人。社會越先進(jìn)，與他人的聯(lián)系越頻繁。
所以我們得出一個結(jié)論——只要技術(shù)進(jìn)步，世界將變得越來越小。
