PETS三級寫作常為160-200個詞左右的短文，文章難易程度適中，對于文章的文體，語言等要求較高，考生在寫作時，要注意審請題目，抓住作文題目的核心重點，圍繞著題目展開寫作，考生在組織文章時要注意思路清晰，語言準(zhǔn)確，句子完整，避免出現(xiàn)語法錯誤，另外，在寫作，要盡量運用連詞，如However，Nevertheless等，還要盡量運用諺語，如Every  coin  has  two sides， More  practice，more  benefit，這樣會增加作文的寫作色彩，從而提高作文的得分。
　　作文考試的文體常分為四類:議論文;說明文;記敘文;描寫性作文。下面分別分析以上四類文章:
　　（一）議論文

　　議論文是作者就某個問題或事件發(fā)表自己看法的一種文體。作者旨在通過講事實、擺道理來說明自己的見解、主張，從而使人信服。寫議論文時要特別注意以下幾點:
　　①在段首就必須提出問題和作者的觀點，使讀者明確你的立場;②充分運用邏輯推理來說明自己的觀點，以理服人;  ③說明材料（或論據(jù)）必須真實可靠，有說服力;④駁斥他人觀點時，應(yīng)首先承認(rèn)自己的觀點可能會有人反對，然后再去批駁他人的觀點，這樣才容易獲取他人的信任，使自己的觀點更加真實可靠、有說服力; ⑤結(jié)尾句進一步明白無誤地闡述自己的觀點，贏得讀者的贊同。
　　下面以一篇習(xí)作《如何解決交通擁擠問題》來看看這種文章的寫法。  ①為解決城市交通擁擠，有人建議建造更多的道路。②有的人則建議開辟更多的公共汽車線路。③我的建議。
　　How  to  Solve  the  Problem  of  Heavy  Traffic?
　　With  population  rapidly  increasing，heavy  traffic  has  become  a  big  headache  for  many  cities. For  this  very  reason，many  government  officials  and  experts  have  thought  up  some  solutions，among  which  two  draw  much  attention  the  country  over.
　　Some  people  suggest  that  more  and  wider  roads  should  be  laid  down. It  is  evident  that  it  can  relieve  the  traffic  congestion  in  the  streets，thus  accelerating  the  flow  of  buses  and  cars. And  meanwhile， the  fast  and  smooth  flow  of  traffic  reduces  the  air  pollution  caused  by   engine-idling. But  the  disadvantage  of  this  solution  lies  in  the  fact  that   too  much  land  that  could  be  used  for  farming  or  housing  will  inevitably  be  occupied  by  more  and more roads. Therefore，others  hold  that  the  number  of  public  bus  routes  should  be  raised  so  that  more  people  can be transported  and  fewer  people  will  have  to  travel  in  their own  cars  or  ride  bikes. Less  use  of  bicycles  and  private  cars  will  make   the  roads  less  crowded. Unfortunately，there  is  also  a  drawback  in  this   solution; it  will  bring  inconvenience  to  those  who  live  or  work  far  away  from  bus  stops.
　　As  neither  of  the  two  solutions  is  effective  enough  to  solve  the  problem  of  heavy  traffic  in  cities，I  favor  a  combination  of  the  two. While  building  more  roads  in  places  where  land  is  less  useful，we  should  increase  the  number  of  public  bus  lines. Only in this way can we more efficiently  solve  the  problem  of  heavy  traffic.
　　【譯文】 如何解決交通擁擠的問題
　　隨著人口的迅速增長，交通擁擠已成為許多城市難以解決的問題。正是由于這種原因，許多政府官員以及專家提出了一些解決方案，其中有兩個引起了全國的極大關(guān)注。
　　有人建議建造更多更寬的道路。很明顯，這樣會緩解道路交通的擁擠，從而加快車速。同時，快速而又流暢的車輛還會減少由發(fā)動機變速導(dǎo)致的空氣污染。但此種方案的不足之處在于這樣一個事實;建造道路會不可避免地占用過多的土地，而這些土地本來是可以用于耕作或建房的。故此，另一些人主張開辟更多的公共汽車線路，使更多的人不去駕車或騎車，而是讓他們?nèi)コ俗黄嚒＿@樣一來，也可以降低道路擁擠。不幸的是，它也有缺陷，即給那些遠離公共汽車站的人的生活和工作帶來不便。
