托福獨立寫作話題素材拓展：環境

日前，環境問題是考察熱點，這個話題與大家的生活息息相關。我們可以通過對話題進行2W1H的方式來進行思維拓展。
W1: What is environmental issue?
環境問題是一個很寬泛的概念，包括環境污染(pollution)，沙漠化(desertification)，垃圾處理(waste disposal)等，環境污染又可以細分到大氣污染(atmospheric pollution)，水污染(water pollution)，資源短缺(resource scarcity)。
Sample sentences:
1. Recently, the atmospheric pollution becomes a severe problem, which affects most Chinese cities, especially some metropolis such as Beijing.
2. Since last century, desertification has become a worldwide issue which needs global cooperation to deal with.
W2: Why is the issue complex?
因為地球是一個互相聯系(connected)的整體，牽一發而動全身(the butterfly effect)，一個地方的環境受到污染，勢必影響到周圍其他地方，多個地方環境遭到破壞，則全球大面積都會受到影響。
Sample sentences:
1. Because the earth is connected as a whole, one place being polluted often affects other places, which is called the butterfly effect.
2. The extreme seriousness of desertification results from the vast areas of land and the tremendous numbers of people affected, as well as from the great difficulty of reversing or even slowing the process.
H1: How can we handle?
處理環境問題的方式有很多，需要的是全民合作(public cooperation)和全球合作(global cooperation)才能有所收效。
