Declining an invitation
Unfortunately, I have some prior engagements this weekend.
Thanks for asking me, but I am going to be in India at that time.
I’ll call you when I get back and hopefully we can get together then.
I’d really like to come, but I have some other plans.
I really wish I could go with you, but I promised to help my friend move on Saturday.
If you’re free, maybe we could get together sometime next week instead.
Unfortunately, I have to work overtime tomorrow night.
This week is pretty hectic, but I’m sure we can find another time to meet soon.
I would love to attend, but my relatives are coming in from out of the town that day.
I’m going out to dinner for my dad’s birthday that night.
I should have a lot more time as soon as I finish writing my thesis.
We’ll find another time to get together soon though.

Golf on Saturday morning sounds great. I just got a new set of clubs last week, so this will give me a chance to break them in. How about meeting at the usual place at 9:00? If you’re not doing anything afterwards, let’s have lunch after our game.
