1.alter v. 改變，改動，變更
(例) These clothes are too large; they must be altered.
這些衣服太大，得修改。
2.burst vi.,n. 突然發生，爆裂
（例）They burst out laughing. 他們突然大笑起來。
（搭配）a burst of laughter 突發的笑聲
3.dispose vi. 除掉；處置；解決；處理(of)
（例）We have to dispose of this pile of old papers and magazines. 我們得把這堆舊報紙和雜志處理掉
（例）Man proposes. God disposes. 謀事在人，成事在天。
4.blast n. 爆炸；氣流 vi. 炸，炸掉
（例）The blast from the bomb blew out all the windows in the area. 炸彈爆炸的沖擊波震破了這個地區的所有窗戶。
（例）They've blasted away the rock to build the new road.
他們已炸掉這塊巖石以便修一條新的路。
5.consume v. 消耗，耗盡
（例）His old car consumed much gasoline. 他的舊汽車耗油很多。
6.split v. 劈開；割裂；分裂 a.裂開的
（例）We split the wood into long thin pieces. 我們把木頭劈成長長的薄片。
7.spit v. 吐（唾液等）；唾棄
（例）He spat into the river. 他把痰吐到河里
8.spill v. 溢出，濺出，倒出
（例）I spilt the coffee - it spilt all over my book.
我灑了咖啡，濺了我一書。
