　　這樣發(fā)展句分三個(gè)層次來(lái)談?wù)摗胺磳?duì)在學(xué)校附近修建化工廠”的原因：先點(diǎn)明“弊大于利”，然后從其所帶來(lái)的水污染、噪音污染和空氣污染三個(gè)方面進(jìn)行說(shuō)明，最后以一個(gè)強(qiáng)有力的問(wèn)句結(jié)尾，發(fā)人深思。因此，這個(gè)片段就更充實(shí)、具體，說(shuō)理更透徹。(from www.nmet168.com)

　　說(shuō)明主題的方式有很多，但不論是哪一種方式擴(kuò)展細(xì)節(jié)，都必須為主題服務(wù)，能夠突出主題。不相關(guān)的擴(kuò)展句則會(huì)影響段落的統(tǒng)一性，給讀者理解造成障礙。如：

　　We like our English teacher. He is 36 years old. He is strict with us in everything and he is strict with himself, too. He has a good way of making his classes lively and interesting and his lessons are not easily forgotten. Sometimes he is angry with us, and we are afraid of him. He always leaves us a lot of homework to do. If we haven’t finished it, he will tell us to stand face to face at the back of the classroom.

　　擴(kuò)展句應(yīng)該圍繞主題組織材料，上面這個(gè)段落可說(shuō)是一個(gè)失敗的段落。該段落使用了主題句：We like our English teacher. 按理來(lái)說(shuō)下面的擴(kuò)展句應(yīng)該圍繞這個(gè)主題來(lái)組織材料，但后面幾個(gè)句子：Sometimes he is angry with us and we are afraid of him. He always leaves us a lot of homework…直到最后都與主題無(wú)關(guān)，應(yīng)該刪掉。或另起一段，寫這個(gè)老師的另一方面。
