My View on Bedtime Chat in College Dorms
我對寢室聊天的見解
Many college students stay up very late at nightchatting in bed. They chat on various subjects, suchas study, love, society and future. Sometimes theirchat goes on and on and seems to lead nowhere.Views on this common phenomenon in college lifevary from person to person. To my way of thinking,bedtime chat is beneficial for students.
許多大學(xué)生晚上在寢室聊天。他們談?wù)摰脑掝}很多，例如學(xué)習(xí)、愛、社會以及未來。有時聊著聊著就不知道聊到了什么話題。關(guān)于大學(xué)生活的普遍現(xiàn)象大家眾口不一。我認(rèn)為，睡前聊天對學(xué)生有益。
First of all, bedtime chat is good for freshmen at college. Students from all over the country arenaturally curious about each other. Bedtime chat seems to be a good answer to theircuriosity. Through a good bedtime chat, students in the same dorm would soon learn abouteach other’s likes and dislikes, which can result in a better understanding among roommates.Secondly, it is inevitable to chat on study in bed.Bedtimechat helps with academicdevelopment in that it makes up forwhat each has missed in their daytime lessons.Thirdly,bedtime chat helps broaden students’horizon. This is especially true when the roommates areof adiverse set in terms of culture and geography. Different customs reflecting a differentculture and different sceneries representing their respective geographical conditions are referredto and shared in their chat, which is not only enjoyable but also beneficial. However, one cannever neglect the fact that a bedtime chat carried on for too long will eat much into their timefor sleep and affect study the following day.
首先，睡前聊天對大一學(xué)生有益。大一的學(xué)生對同學(xué)都還處在熟悉的階段。睡前聊天或許能夠滿足學(xué)生的好奇心。通過睡前聊天，學(xué)生能夠了解到同學(xué)的喜好，這將加深同學(xué)之間的了解。第二，談?wù)搶W(xué)習(xí)是不可避免的。睡前聊天可以幫助學(xué)生增進學(xué)習(xí)，因為同學(xué)之間可以相互彌補課堂上的不足。第二，睡前聊天可以幫助學(xué)生擴展視野。這對于處在不同文化和地域的學(xué)生來說尤為如此。不同的習(xí)俗反映了不同的文化和風(fēng)景，同學(xué)之間的地域差別就將在對話中展現(xiàn)，這不僅會讓交流有趣，還非常有益。但是，人們也不能忽視的是，睡前聊天如果時間過長將會占用大量睡眠，以及學(xué)習(xí)的時間。
In a word, I firmly believe that bedtime chat in dorms at college has much more advantagesthan disadvantages only if it doesn’t go on for too long.
總之，我很確定的是睡前聊天利大于弊，前提是保持適度的時間。
