　　In recent years, Chinese people think that there are so many disasters happened in China, especially the earthquake. The newspapers is flooded with the reports about the big earthquakes such as those happened in Wen chuan,Ya’an, and Gan Su. Some people are becoming confused and asking: Did earthquakes happen more frequently than before? Why? Actually, China is always the most affected by earthquake in the world.

　　近幾年，中國的人們認為中國發生了很多災難，特別是地震。各大報紙充斥著關于許多大地震的報道，如發生在汶川，雅安，甘肅等地的地震。人們開始變得很困惑，地震比以前發生得更頻繁了嗎?為什么?實際上中國是世界上受地震危害最嚴重的國家。

　　The first reason why people deem more earthquake disasters happened than the past is that they don’t familiar with geography situations of their own country. The experts said that most Chinese people are not familiar with the truth that China is the one of the countries most affected by earthquake in the world. It is said that the in the western region of China the earthquake on the frequency and intensity is higher than in the eastern region. The reason why people do not hear the news about western region’s earthquakes is that few people lived in these places and no one died.

　　人們認為地震發生得比過去多的第一個原因是中國人們對自己國家的地理情況不是很了解。據專家說大部分中國人都不知道這樣一個事實，那就是中國是世界上地震災害最嚴重的國家之一。據說在中國西部地震發生的頻率和密度都比在中國東部的地震高。人們很少知道西部地區發生地震是因為那些地震發生在無人居住的地方，無人死亡。

　　The second reason is that the advancement of communication technology and people’s more attentions on the environmental problems. With the different kinds of exploitation and the destruction of the environment, more and more people become to notice that the earth has been hotter and hotter, which the widely spread phenomenon--global warming--is well-known for Chinese. So they begin to care about the relationship with the nature. Besides the advanced communication technology like the Internet, TV, and radio help the bad news about disaster spread all over the country and even the world. These reports about disaster flooded the newspaper, TV, and the website, thus making people think there are so many earthquakes happened.

　　第二個原因是先進交流技術和人們對環境問題的關注。由于各種對環境的開采和破壞，越來越多的人們開始發現地球變得越來越熱，人們也認識到了全球變暖這個普遍的溫室現象。于是他們開始關心跟自然的關系。此外那些先進的交流技術如網絡，電視和收音機都使得關于災難的壞消息全國皆知，甚至傳至世界。于是關于災難的報道涌現在報紙，電視和網頁上，這使得人們覺得地震變多了。

　　In a word, people have the wrong thought of more earthquakes happened in China than before is because the lack of knowledge on their country’s geography, and the misunderstanding made by the emerged overwhelming news.
