Some people are becoming confused and asking: Did earthquakes happen more frequently than before? Why? Actually, China is always the most affected by earthquake in the world.

　　近幾年，中國(guó)的人們認(rèn)為中國(guó)發(fā)生了很多災(zāi)難，特別是地震。各大報(bào)紙充斥著關(guān)于許多大地震的報(bào)道，如發(fā)生在汶川，雅安，甘肅等地的地震。人們開始變得很困惑，地震比以前發(fā)生得更頻繁了嗎?為什么?實(shí)際上中國(guó)是世界上受地震危害最嚴(yán)重的國(guó)家。

　　The first reason why people deem more earthquake disasters happened than the past is that they don’t familiar with geography situations of their own country. The experts said that most Chinese people are not familiar with the truth that China is the one of the countries most affected by earthquake in the world. It is said that the in the western region of China the earthquake on the frequency and intensity is higher than in the eastern region. The reason why people do not hear the news about western region’s earthquakes is that few people lived in these places and no one died.

　　人們認(rèn)為地震發(fā)生得比過去多的第一個(gè)原因是中國(guó)人們對(duì)自己國(guó)家的地理情況不是很了解。據(jù)專家說大部分中國(guó)人都不知道這樣一個(gè)事實(shí)，那就是中國(guó)是世界上地震災(zāi)害最嚴(yán)重的國(guó)家之一。據(jù)說在中國(guó)西部地震發(fā)生的頻率和密度都比在中國(guó)東部的地震高。人們很少知道西部地區(qū)發(fā)生地震是因?yàn)槟切┑卣鸢l(fā)生在無人居住的地方，無人死亡。

　　The second reason is that the advancement of communication technology and people’s more attentions on the environmental problems. With the different kinds of exploitation and the destruction of the environment, more and more people become to notice that the earth has been hotter and hotter, which the widely spread phenomenon--global warming--is well-known for Chinese. So they begin to care about the relationship with the nature. Besides the advanced communication technology like the Internet, TV, and radio help the bad news about disaster spread all over the country and even the world. These reports about disaster flooded the newspaper, TV, and the website, thus making people think there are so many earthquakes happened.

　　第二個(gè)原因是先進(jìn)交流技術(shù)和人們對(duì)環(huán)境問題的關(guān)注。由于各種對(duì)環(huán)境的開采和破壞，越來越多的人們開始發(fā)現(xiàn)地球變得越來越熱，人們也認(rèn)識(shí)到了全球變暖這個(gè)普遍的溫室現(xiàn)象。于是他們開始關(guān)心跟自然的關(guān)系。此外那些先進(jìn)的交流技術(shù)如網(wǎng)絡(luò)，電視和收音機(jī)都使得關(guān)于災(zāi)難的壞消息全國(guó)皆知，甚至傳至世界。于是關(guān)于災(zāi)難的報(bào)道涌現(xiàn)在報(bào)紙，電視和網(wǎng)頁(yè)上，這使得人們覺得地震變多了。

　　In a word, people have the wrong thought of more earthquakes happened in China than before is because the lack of knowledge on their country’s geography, and the misunderstanding made by the emerged overwhelming news.
