2017英語專業八級作文話題：拯救中國文化遺產

　　Every night on Jinan University's campus in Guangzhou, a group of students plays diabolo as acrowd watches on in amazement.

　　在廣州暨南大學校園內，每晚都有一群學生表演抖空竹，圍觀的人們無不驚呼連連。

　　Chen Zhelun, 25, a Malaysian-Chinese majoring in animation, founded the diabolo club, whichaims to restore the popularity of this traditional Chinese game. He is one of many studentsexpressing their interest in the country's cultural heritage by starting clubs.

　　就讀于動畫專業、25歲的馬來西亞籍留學生陳哲倫一手創辦了“扯鈴社”(編者注：“空竹”又稱“扯鈴”)，目的是提升這項中國傳統游戲的人氣。很多學生為表達對中國文化遺產的喜愛而紛紛創建社團，陳哲倫便是其中之一。

　　Originally from China, the diabolo is popular among Chinese living in Malaysia.

　　空竹起源于中國，頗受馬來西亞華人的歡迎。

　　“We played diabolo from primary school onward. I thought I could find someone to play withon campus in China, but when I arrived I found that only a few students knew about it. So Ilaunched a club to promote it, ” says Chen.

　　陳哲倫說：“我們從小學便開始抖空竹。我原本以為在中國大學校園里能夠找到一些志同道合的人，但是當我到這里后，我發現只有少數學生知道它。所以我創建了這個社團去推廣它。”

　　To Chen's surprise, the old game has attracted a huge crowd —more than 1, 000 students havejoined the club and they are invited to perform at many campus activities. The group hasalready prepared more than 30 routines.

　　令陳哲倫意外的是，這項古老的游戲竟然吸引了一大群人的注意——1000多名學生加入扯鈴社，社團也受邀前往很多大學表演。目前，該社團已安排了30幾個行程。

　　“It strengthens your body, improves blood circulation and it's fun, ” says Chen.

　　陳哲倫說：“抖空竹可以強身健體、促進血液循環且十分有趣。”

　　But some prefer quieter pastimes. Every weekend, one classroom on Shenzhen University'scampus is always packed, but it's unusually silent. That's because the members of the Lantingcalligraphy club are writing Chinese characters with traditional brushes.

　　而有的人則更喜歡一些比較安靜的消遣方式。每個周末，深圳大學的一間教室里總是擠滿了人，但卻異常安靜。這是因為蘭亭書法社的成員們正在練毛筆字。

　　Fan Dongling, 21, a junior majoring in Chinese literature at Shenzhen University, says it's ashame that young people no longer appreciate the beauty of Chinese characters due to typingon computers.

　　來自深圳大學中文系大三年級、21歲的范冬琳(音譯)表示，年輕人由于用電腦打字，因而不再欣賞漢字的美，這令人惋惜。

　　So Fan often arranges for students to attend calligraphy shows in local communities andencourages them to sign up for competitions.

　　所以范冬琳組織學生去參加社區書法表演，鼓勵他們去報名參加比賽。

　　“We also dropped the requirement for students to write traditional characters rather thansimplified ones, ” says Fan.

　　范冬琳說：“我們也不再硬性要求學生，一定要寫繁體字而不是簡體字。”

　　Although her club is quiet, Fan says it keeps members healthy, both mentally and physically.

　　盡管她的社團十分安靜，但范冬琳表示這有助于社團成員保持身心健康。

　　“Using brushes to write Chinese characters requires a lot of muscle strength and control, whichcan help you control yourself and find inner peace, ” says Fan.

　　范冬琳說：“練毛筆字需要很多肌肉的力量和調控能力，它可以幫助你更好地自我調控，達到內心平衡。”

　　As special as they are, some clubs promoting traditional Chinese culture struggle to recruitnew members.

　　由于一些社團的特殊性，他們在招募新成員時也遇到了些麻煩。

　　“Some students think traditional things are outdated. They like celebrating Western festivalslike Christmas or Valentine's Day, but they seldom pay attention to traditional ones, ” saysKong Yanquan, 21, a junior majoring in civil engineering at Guangxi University.

　　“有些學生認為傳統的東西都過時了。他們喜歡過圣誕節、情人節這些西方節日，但卻很少去關注中國傳統的東西。”就讀于廣西大學土木工程專業大三年級、21歲的孔炎泉(音譯)說道。

　　As head of the traditional Chinese local operas club, Kong tried hard to attract freshmen, buthis efforts didn't payoff.

　　作為該校中國傳統地方戲曲社團的社長，盡管孔炎泉努力地去吸引新生的關注，但卻未能如他所愿。

　　“We invited a Peking Opera troupe to perform on campus and share some tips with us, ” saysKong. “But only a few students showed any interest. Most of them prefer watching costume TVdramas.”

　　“我們邀請京劇團到學校演出，并和我們分享一些技巧。”孔炎泉說。“但只有少數學生感興趣。大多數人則更喜歡看偶像劇。”

　　Wang Feng, 22, a senior majoring in accounting at Qingdao University of Science&Technology takes a different approach. He sees the key to promoting traditionalculture among his peers is to integrate trendy and modern elements into it.

　　就讀于青島大學會計專業大四年級，22歲的王峰(音譯)則另辟蹊徑。他認為，要想在同齡人中推廣傳統文化，關鍵在于要將當下的流行元素融入其中。

　　“We used to offer only weiqi and Chinese chess in our club, ” says Wang. “But since we addedother board games, like Five-in-a-Row and Three Kingdoms Kill (sanguosha), more membershave joined.”

　　“以前，我們社團里只有圍棋和象棋，”王峰說。“但自從我們增加了像五子棋和三國殺這樣的棋類游戲之后，便有更多人前來加入了社團。”

　　Kong plans to try new measures to attract students to his club, too.

　　孔炎泉也正在計劃采取新的舉措來吸引學生加入自己的社團。

　　“I think it's everyone's responsibility to preserve and promote China's traditional cultureamong young people, ” he says.

　　他說：“我認為每個人都有責任來保護中國傳統文化，并在年輕人中加以推廣。”
