　　Mu Yumin had no idea that when he stopped by the computer club as a freshman looking forsomething fun, it would decide his career four years later.

　　大一時(shí)，穆玉明(音譯)為了好玩，偶然間加入了計(jì)算機(jī)俱樂部。當(dāng)時(shí)的他不知道，這個(gè)選擇將會(huì)決定他四年后的職業(yè)。

　　The 22-year-old biology major at Huazhong University of Science and Technology found a job asan IT technician in Shanghai.

　　畢業(yè)于華中科技大學(xué)生物學(xué)專業(yè)、22歲的穆玉明最終在上海找了份IT工程師的工作。

　　“My experience in the club gave me another ‘diploma’,” said Mu. “More importantly, I foundsomething I am good at and can make a living from.”

　　穆玉明說(shuō)：“我在計(jì)算機(jī)俱樂部里的經(jīng)歷給了我另一張‘文憑’。更重要的是，我找到了自己的長(zhǎng)處，并能夠以此謀生。”

　　Now campuses around the country have started recruiting fresh faces for all kinds of clubs.Upperclassmen and experts suggest a hobby-based selection of clubs, which might have alasting impact on one’s life and career.

　　現(xiàn)在，全國(guó)各地校園中各種社團(tuán)紛紛開始招兵買馬。學(xué)長(zhǎng)和專家們建議根據(jù)個(gè)人興趣愛好來(lái)選擇社團(tuán)，它可能會(huì)為你的生活和職業(yè)帶來(lái)長(zhǎng)遠(yuǎn)的影響。

　　Zhang Ling did not get many chances to write stories as an environmental protection major atJiangxi University of Science and Technology. But this changed when she joined the universitybroadcast station.

　　作為一名就讀于江西科技大學(xué)環(huán)境保護(hù)專業(yè)的學(xué)生，張玲(音譯)本沒有很多機(jī)會(huì)來(lái)提筆寫文章，然而，當(dāng)她加入了學(xué)校廣播站后，一切都變了。

　　Her daily interviews with students and teachers expanded her horizon. Now she is determinedto become a journalist on environmental issues with her degree in environmental protection.

　　對(duì)老師和同學(xué)們的日常采訪拓寬了她的視野?，F(xiàn)在，她決定利用自己的專業(yè)優(yōu)勢(shì)，成為一名致力于報(bào)道環(huán)境問題的記者。

　　“Journalism changed my life track,” said 22-year-old. “I only wanted to be a science teacher in alocal senior high school. But now I am applying for a graduate school in journalism.”

　　22歲的她表示：“新聞工作改變了我的生活軌跡。原先我只想當(dāng)一名當(dāng)?shù)氐母咧欣砜平處煛６F(xiàn)在，我正在申請(qǐng)新聞專業(yè)的研究生。”

　　Lan Yujie, professor at Anhui University of Technology, regards Mu and Zhang as good examplesof choosing “what I like” instead of “what is practical” in finding jobs and seeking further study.

　　安徽科技大學(xué)教授藍(lán)玉杰(音譯)認(rèn)為，穆玉明和張玲做出了良好的榜樣，他們?cè)谡夜ぷ骰蚶^續(xù)深造這個(gè)問題上都選擇了“個(gè)人愛好”，而非“實(shí)用主義”。

　　“Some freshmen don’t know what to choose,” said Lan. “Just following a hobby and doingsomething you like can easily give you the expertise that make you happy and special.”

　　藍(lán)玉杰說(shuō)：“有些大一新生不知道該選擇什么。只要跟著興趣走，做自己喜歡的事，你便能輕松獲取專業(yè)知識(shí)，這會(huì)令你心情愉悅，同時(shí)與眾不同。”

　　However, choosing a club related to your studies or career plans is not all negative.

　　但是，選擇一些與學(xué)業(yè)或職業(yè)規(guī)劃密切相關(guān)的社團(tuán)，這種做法也不能一票否定。

　　Fu Yuheng is now working at a Beijing-based publishing house as an editor. As a freshman atBeijing University of Foreign Studies, Fu wanted to be an interpreter, so he joined thetranslation club. But he soon found that he was better at editing translated text into anorganized format rather than interpreting himself.

　　付玉恒(音譯)現(xiàn)為北京某出版社的編輯。早在北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)讀大一時(shí)，他曾想作一名口譯員，因此加入了翻譯社團(tuán)。但是，不久他便發(fā)現(xiàn)，與口譯相比，他更擅長(zhǎng)將譯好的文章編輯成規(guī)范格式。

　　“Without the club experience I might have stepped into a field that I am not really good at,”said Fu.

　　付玉恒說(shuō)：“要是沒有社團(tuán)經(jīng)驗(yàn)，我也許會(huì)誤入自己并不真正擅長(zhǎng)的領(lǐng)域。”

　　Lan further says that joining clubs should not necessarily have a purpose. As part of campuslife, a club experience will impact one’s life and career in one way or another.

　　藍(lán)玉杰還說(shuō)，加入社團(tuán)不一定要抱有什么目標(biāo)。作為校園生活的一部分，無(wú)論如何，社團(tuán)經(jīng)驗(yàn)都會(huì)對(duì)你的生活和職業(yè)帶來(lái)影響。

　　“The point of clubs is to have as much diverse experiences as possible so that students canexplore more of their life,” said Lan.

　　藍(lán)玉杰說(shuō)道：“加入社團(tuán)的關(guān)鍵在于，盡可能多地收獲不同體驗(yàn)，這樣可以探尋更多的生活樂趣。”
