You may be aware of that people have long been debating about whether it's IQ or EQ.
你可能已經察覺，長久以來，人們一直在爭論到底是智商還是情商。
One of them measures how much you can master complexity.
它們中的其中一個衡量的是你掌握復雜東西的能力。
The other measures how much you can understand and control emotion.
另一個衡量的則是你理解、控制感情的能力。
Sure, they are both very important.

But neither of them is the critical one.

General Patton once said: "I don't measure a man's success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits bottom."

And this quality is called AQ, which stands for Adversity Quotient.

It measures how well you can handle adversities.

Most people can do very well when everything is fine.

But most of them will collapse once a great adveristy comes and neither IQ or EQ can save them from that.
然而一旦經歷了重大的挫折，他們中的很多就會崩潰，而不管是IQ還是EQ都無法拯救這樣的人。
