3：1 童子撒母耳在以利面前事奉耶和華。當那些日子，耶和華的言語稀少，不常有默示。

　　And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days； there was no open vision.

　　3：2 一日，以利睡臥在自己的地方。他眼目昏花，看不分明。

　　And it came to pass at that time， when Eli was laid down in his place， and his eyes began to wax dim， that he could not see；

　　3：3 神的燈在神耶和華殿內約柜那里，還沒有熄滅，撒母耳已經睡了。

　　And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD， where the ark of God was， and Samuel was laid down to sleep；

　　3：4 耶和華呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳說，我在這里。

　　That the LORD called Samuel： and he answered， Here am I.

　　3：5 就跑到以利那里，說，你呼喚我。我在這里。以利回答說，我沒有呼喚你，你去睡吧。他就去睡了。

　　And he ran unto Eli， and said， Here am I； for thou calledst me. And he said， I called not； lie down again. And he went and lay down.

　　3：6 耶和華又呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳起來，到以利那里，說，你呼喚我。我在這里。以利回答說，我的兒，我沒有呼喚你，你去睡吧。

　　And the LORD called yet again， Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli， and said， Here am I； for thou didst call me. And he answered， I called not， my son； lie down again.

　　3：7 那時撒母耳還未認識耶和華，也未得耶和華的默示。

　　Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD， neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.

　　3：8 耶和華第三次呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳起來，到以利那里，說，你又呼喚我。我在這里。以利才明白是耶和華呼喚童子。

　　And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli， and said， Here am I； for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.

　　3：9 因此以利對撒母耳說，你仍去睡吧。若再呼喚你，你就說，耶和華阿，請說，仆人敬聽。撒母耳就去，仍睡在原處。

　　Therefore Eli said unto Samuel， Go， lie down： and it shall be， if he call thee， that thou shalt say， Speak， LORD； for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

　　3：10 耶和華又來站著，像前三次呼喚說，撒母耳阿。撒母耳阿。撒母耳回答說，請說，仆人敬聽。

　　And the LORD came， and stood， and called as at other times， Samuel， Samuel. Then Samuel answered， Speak； for thy servant heareth.

　　3：11 耶和華對撒母耳說，我在以色列中必行一件事，叫聽見的人都必耳嗚。

　　And the LORD said to Samuel， Behold， I will do a thing in Israel， at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

　　3：12 我指著以利家所說的話，到了時候，我必始終應驗在以利身上。

　　In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house： when I begin， I will also make an end.

　　3：13 我曾告訴他必永遠降罰與他的家，因他知道兒子作孽，自招咒詛，卻不禁止他們。

　　For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth； because his sons made themselves vile， and he restrained them not.

　　3：14 所以我向以利家起誓說，以利家的罪孽，雖獻祭奉禮物，永不能得贖去。

　　And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli， that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.

　　3：15 撒母耳睡到天亮，就開了耶和華的殿門，不敢將默示告訴以利。

　　And Samuel lay until the morning， and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.

　　3：16 以利呼喚撒母耳說，我兒撒母耳阿。撒母耳回答說，我在這里。

　　Then Eli called Samuel， and said， Samuel， my son. And he answered， Here am I.

　　3：17 以利說，耶和華對你說什么，你不要向我隱瞞。你若將神對你所說的隱瞞一句，愿他重重地降罰與你。

　　And he said， What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee？ I pray thee hide it not from me： God do so to thee， and more also， if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.

　　3：18 撒母耳就把一切話都告訴了以利，并沒有隱瞞。以利說，這是出于耶和華，愿他憑自己的意旨而行。

　　And Samuel told him every whit， and hid nothing from him. And he said， It is the LORD： let him do what seemeth him good.

　　3：19 撒母耳長大了，耶和華與他同在，使他所說的話一句都不落空。

　　And Samuel grew， and the LORD was with him， and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

　　3：20 從但到別是巴所有的以色列人，都知道耶和華立撒母耳為先知。

　　And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.

　　3：21 耶和華又在示羅顯現。因為耶和華將自己的話默示撒母耳，撒母耳就把這話傳遍以色列地。

　　And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh： for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.
