舊約 -- 以西結書(Ezekiel) -- 第18章
18：1 耶和華的話又臨到我說，The word of the LORD came unto me again， saying，
18：2 你們在以色列地怎嗎用這俗語說父親吃了酸葡萄，兒子的牙酸倒了呢。
What mean ye， that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel， saying， The fathers have eaten sour grapes， and the children's teeth are set on edge？
18：3 主耶和華說，我指著我的永生起誓，你們在以色列中，必不再有用這俗語的因由。
As I live， saith the Lord GOD， ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.
18：4 看哪，世人都是屬我的。為父的怎樣屬我，為子的也照樣屬我。犯罪的，他必死亡。
Behold， all souls are mine； as the soul of the father， so also the soul of the son is mine： the soul that sinneth， it shall die.
18：5 人若是公義，且行正直與合理的事，But if a man be just， and do that which is lawful and right，
18：6 未曾在山上吃過祭偶像之物，未曾仰望以色列家的偶像，未曾玷污鄰舍的妻，未曾在婦人的經期內親近她，And hath not eaten upon the mountains， neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel， neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife， neither hath come near to a menstruous woman，
18：7 未曾虧負人，乃將欠債之人的當頭還給他。未曾搶奪人的物件，卻將食物給饑餓的人吃，將衣服給赤身的人穿。
And hath not oppressed any， but hath restored to the debtor his pledge， hath spoiled none by violence， hath given his bread to the hungry， and hath covered the naked with a garment；
18：8 未曾向借錢的弟兄取利，也未曾向借糧的弟兄多要，縮手不作罪孽，在兩人之間，按至理判斷。
He that hath not given forth upon usury， neither hath taken any increase， that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity， hath executed true judgment between man and man，
18：9 遵行我的律例，謹守我的典章，按誠實行事這人是公義的，必定存活。這是主耶和華說的。
Hath walked in my statutes， and hath kept my judgments， to deal truly； he is just， he shall surely live， saith the Lord GOD.
18：10 * If he beget a son that is a robber， a shedder of blood， and that doeth the like to any one of these things，
18：11 他若生一個兒子，作強盜，是流人血的，不行以上所說之善，反行其中之惡，乃在山上吃過祭偶像之物，并玷污鄰舍的妻，And that doeth not any of those duties， but even hath eaten upon the mountains， and defiled his neighbour's wife，
18：12 虧負困苦和窮乏的人，搶奪人的物，未曾將當頭還給人，仰望偶像，并行可憎的事，Hath oppressed the poor and needy， hath spoiled by violence， hath not restored the pledge， and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols， hath committed abomination，
18：13 向借錢的弟兄取利，向借糧的弟兄多要這人豈能存活呢。他必不能存活。他行這一切可憎的事，必要死亡，他的罪（原文作血）必歸到他身上。
Hath given forth upon usury， and hath taken increase： shall he then live？ he shall not live： he hath done all these abominations； he shall surely die； his blood shall be upon him.
18：14 他若生一個兒子，見父親所犯的一切罪便懼怕（有古卷作思量），不照樣去作。
Now， lo， if he beget a son， that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done， and considereth， and doeth not such like，
18：15 未曾在山上吃過祭偶像之物，未曾仰望以色列家的偶像，未曾玷污鄰舍的妻，That hath not eaten upon the mountains， neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel， hath not defiled his neighbour's wife，
18：16 未曾虧負人，未曾取人的當頭，未曾搶奪人的物件，卻將食物給饑餓的人吃，將衣服給赤身的人穿，Neither hath oppressed any， hath not withholden the pledge， neither hath spoiled by violence， but hath given his bread to the hungry， and hath covered the naked with a garment，
18：17 縮手不害貧窮人，未曾向借錢的弟兄取利，也未曾向借糧的弟兄多要。他順從我的典章，遵行我的律例，就不因父親的罪孽死亡，定要存活。
That hath taken off his hand from the poor， that hath not received usury nor increase， hath executed my judgments， hath walked in my statutes； he shall not die for the iniquity of his father， he shall surely live.
18：18 至于他父親。因為欺人太甚，搶奪弟兄，在本國的民中行不善，他必因自己的罪孽死亡。
As for his father， because he cruelly oppressed， spoiled his brother by violence， and did that which is not good among his people， lo， even he shall die in his iniquity.
18：19 你們還說，兒子為何不擔當父親的罪孽呢。兒子行正直與合理的事，謹守遵行我的一切律例，他必定存活。
Yet say ye， Why？ doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father？ When the son hath done that which is lawful and right， and hath kept all my statutes， and hath done them， he shall surely live.
18：20 惟有犯罪的，他必死亡。兒子必不擔當父親的罪孽，父親也不擔當兒子的罪孽。義人的善果必歸自己，惡人的惡報也必歸自己。
The soul that sinneth， it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father， neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son： the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him， and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
18：21 惡人若回頭離開所作的一切罪惡，謹守我一切的律例，行正直與合理的事，他必定存活，不致死亡。
But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed， and keep all my statutes， and do that which is lawful and right， he shall surely live， he shall not die.
18：22 他所犯的一切罪過都不被記念，因所行的義，他必存活。
All his transgressions that he hath committed， they shall not be mentioned unto him： in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
18：23 主耶和華說，惡人死亡，豈是我喜悅的嗎。不是喜悅他回頭離開所行的道存活嗎。
Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die？ saith the Lord GOD： and not that he should return from his ways， and live？
18：24 義人若轉離義行而作罪孽，照著惡人所行一切可憎的事而行，他豈能存活嗎。他所行的一切義都不被記念。他必因所犯的罪，所行的惡死亡。
But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness， and committeth iniquity， and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth， shall he live？ All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned： in his trespass that he hath trespassed， and in his sin that he hath sinned， in them shall he die.
18：25 你們還說，主的道不公平。以色列家阿，你們當聽，我的道豈不公平嗎。你們的道豈不是不公平嗎。
Yet ye say， The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now， O house of Israel； Is not my way equal？ are not your ways unequal？
18：26 義人若轉離義行而作罪孽死亡，他是因所作的罪孽死亡。
When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness， and committeth iniquity， and dieth in them； for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
18：27 再者，惡人若回頭離開所行的惡，行正直與合理的事，他必將性命救活了。
Again， when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed， and doeth that which is lawful and right， he shall save his soul alive.
18：28 因為他思量，回頭離開所犯的一切罪過，必定存活，不致死亡。
Because he considereth， and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed， he shall surely live， he shall not die.
18：29 以色列家還說，主的道不公平。以色列家阿，我的道豈不公平嗎。你們的道豈不是不公平嗎。
Yet saith the house of Israel， The way of the LORD is not equal. O house of Israel， are not my ways equal？ are not your ways unequal？
18：30 所以主耶和華說，以色列家阿，我必按你們各人所行的審判你們。你們當回頭離開所犯的一切罪過。這樣，罪孽必不使你們敗亡。
Therefore I will judge you， O house of Israel， every one according to his ways， saith the Lord GOD. Repent， and turn yourselves from all your transgressions； so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
18：31 你們要將所犯的一切罪過盡行拋棄，自作一個新心和新靈。以色列家阿，你們何必死亡呢。
Cast away from you all your transgressions， whereby ye have transgressed； and make you a new heart and a new spirit： for why will ye die， O house of Israel？
18：32 主耶和華說，我不喜悅那死人之死，所以你們當回頭而存活。
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth， saith the Lord GOD： wherefore turn yourselves， and live ye.
