11：1 過了一年，到列王出戰的時候，大衛又差派約押，率領臣仆和以色列眾人出戰。他們就打敗亞捫人，圍攻拉巴。大衛仍住在耶路撒冷。

　　And it came to pass， after the year was expired， at the time when kings go forth to battle， that David sent Joab， and his servants with him， and all Israel； and they destroyed the children of Ammon， and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.

　　11：2 一日，太陽平西，大衛從床上起來，在王宮的平頂上游行，看見一個婦人沭浴，容貌甚美，And it came to pass in an eveningtide， that David arose from off his bed， and walked upon the roof of the king's house： and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself； and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

　　11：3 大衛就差人打聽那婦人是誰。有人說，她是以連的女兒，赫人烏利亞的妻拔示巴。

　　And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said， Is not this Bathsheba， the daughter of Eliam， the wife of Uriah the Hittite？

　　11：4 大衛差人去，將婦人接來。那時她的月經才得潔凈。她來了，大衛與她同房，她就回家去了。

　　And David sent messengers， and took her； and she came in unto him， and he lay with her； for she was purified from her uncleanness： and she returned unto her house.

　　11：5 于是她懷了孕，打發人去告訴大衛說，我懷了孕。

　　And the woman conceived， and sent and told David， and said， I am with child.

　　11：6 大衛差人到約押那里，說，你打發赫人烏利亞到我這里來。約押就打發烏利亞去見大衛。

　　And David sent to Joab， saying， Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David.

　　11：7 烏利亞來了，大衛問約押好，也問兵好，又問爭戰的事怎樣。

　　And when Uriah was come unto him， David demanded of him how Joab did， and how the people did， and how the war prospered.

　　11：8 大衛對烏利亞說，你回家去，洗洗腳吧。烏利亞出了王宮，隨后王送他一分食物。

　　And David said to Uriah， Go down to thy house， and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house， and there followed him a mess of meat from the king.

　　11：9 烏利亞卻和他主人的仆人一同睡在宮門外，沒有回家去。

　　But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord， and went not down to his house.

　　11：10 有人告訴大衛說，烏利亞沒有回家去。大衛就問烏利亞說，你從遠路上來，為什么不回家去呢。

　　And when they had told David， saying， Uriah went not down unto his house， David said unto Uriah， Camest thou not from thy journey？ why then didst thou not go down unto thine house？

　　11：11 烏利亞對大衛說，約柜和以色列與猶大兵都住在棚里，我主約押和我主（或作王）的仆人都在田野安營，我豈可回家吃喝，與妻子同寢呢。我敢在王面前起誓（原文作我指著王和王的性命起誓）。

　　And Uriah said unto David， The ark， and Israel， and Judah， abide in tents； and my lord Joab， and the servants of my lord， are encamped in the open fields； shall I then go into mine house， to eat and to drink， and to lie with my wife？ as thou livest， and as thy soul liveth， I will not do this thing.

　　11：12 大衛吩咐烏利亞說，你今日仍住在這里，明日我打發你去。于是烏利亞那日和次日住在耶路撒冷。

　　And David said to Uriah， Tarry here to day also， and to morrow I will let thee depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day， and the morrow.

　　11：13 大衛召了烏利亞來，叫他在自己面前吃喝，使他喝醉。到了晚上，烏利亞出去與他主的仆人一同住宿，還沒有回到家里去。

　　And when David had called him， he did eat and drink before him； and he made him drunk： and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord， but went not down to his house.

　　11：14 次日早晨，大衛寫信與約押，交烏利亞隨手帶去。

　　And it came to pass in the morning， that David wrote a letter to Joab， and sent it by the hand of Uriah.

　　11：15 信內寫著說，要派烏利亞前進，到陣勢極險之處，你們便退后，使他被殺。

　　And he wrote in the letter， saying， Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle， and retire ye from him， that he may be smitten， and die.

　　11：16 約押圍城的時候，知道敵人那里有勇士，便將烏利亞派在那里。

　　And it came to pass， when Joab observed the city， that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.

　　11：17 城里的人出來和約押打仗。大衛的仆人中有幾個被殺的，赫人烏利亞也死了。

　　And the men of the city went out， and fought with Joab： and there fell some of the people of the servants of David； and Uriah the Hittite died also.

　　11：18 于是，約押差人去將爭戰的一切事告訴大衛，Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war；

　　11：19 又囑咐使者說，你把爭戰的一切事對王說完了，And charged the messenger， saying， When thou hast made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king，

　　11：20 王若發怒，問你說，你們打仗為什么挨近城墻呢。豈不知敵人必從城上射箭嗎。

　　And if so be that the king's wrath arise， and he say unto thee， Wherefore approached ye so nigh unto the city when ye did fight？ knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall？

　　11：21 從前打死耶路比設（就是耶路巴力，見士師記九章一節）兒子亞比米勒的是誰呢。豈不是一個婦人從城上拋下一塊上磨石來，打在他身上，他就死在提備斯嗎。你們為什么挨近城墻呢？你就說，王的仆人，赫人烏利亞也死了。

　　Who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth？ did not a woman cast a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall， that he died in Thebez？ why went ye nigh the wall？ then say thou， Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.

　　11：22 使者起身，來見大衛，照著約押所吩咐他的話奏告大衛。

　　So the messenger went， and came and shewed David all that Joab had sent him for.

　　11：23 使者對大衛說，敵人強過我們，出到郊野與我們打仗，我們追殺他們，直到城門口。

　　And the messenger said unto David， Surely the men prevailed against us， and came out unto us into the field， and we were upon them even unto the entering of the gate.

　　11：24 射箭的從城上射王的仆人，射死幾個，赫人烏利亞也死了。

　　And the shooters shot from off the wall upon thy servants； and some of the king's servants be dead， and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.

　　11：25 王向使者說，你告訴約押說，不要因這事愁悶，刀劍或吞滅這人或吞滅那人，沒有一定的。你只管竭力攻城，將城傾覆。可以用這話勉勵約押。

　　Then David said unto the messenger， Thus shalt thou say unto Joab， Let not this thing displease thee， for the sword devoureth one as well as another： make thy battle more strong against the city， and overthrow it： and encourage thou him.

　　11：26 烏利亞的妻聽見丈夫烏利亞死了，就為他哀哭。

　　And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead， she mourned for her husband.

　　11：27 哀哭的日子過了，大衛差人將她接到宮里，她就作了大衛的妻，給大衛生了一個兒子。但大衛所行的這事，耶和華甚不喜悅。

　　And when the mourning was past， David sent and fetched her to his house， and she became his wife， and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.
