5：1 這事以后，到了猶太的一個(gè)節(jié)期。耶穌就上耶路撒冷去。

　　After this there was a feast of the Jews； and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

　　5：2 在耶路撒冷，靠近羊門(mén)，有一個(gè)池子，希伯來(lái)話叫作畢士大，旁邊有五個(gè)廊子。

　　Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool， which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda， having five porches.

　　5：3 里面躺著瞎眼的，瘸腿的，血?dú)饪萸?，許多病人。（有古卷在此有等候水動(dòng)In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk， of blind， halt， withered， waiting for the moving of the water.

　　5：4 因?yàn)橛刑焓拱磿r(shí)下池?cái)噭?dòng)那水，水動(dòng)之后，誰(shuí)先下去，無(wú)論什么病，就痊愈了）。

　　For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool， and troubled the water： whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

　　5：5 在那里有一個(gè)人，病了三十八年。

　　And a certain man was there， which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

　　5：6 耶穌看見(jiàn)他躺著，知道他病了許久，就問(wèn)他說(shuō)，你要痊愈嗎。

　　When Jesus saw him lie， and knew that he had been now a long time in that case， he saith unto him， Wilt thou be made whole？

　　5：7 病人回答說(shuō)，先生，水動(dòng)的時(shí)候，沒(méi)有人把我放在池子里。我正去的時(shí)候，就有別人比我先下去。

　　The impotent man answered him， Sir， I have no man， when the water is troubled， to put me into the pool： but while I am coming， another steppeth down before me.

　　5：8 耶穌對(duì)他說(shuō)，起來(lái)，拿你的褥子走吧。

　　Jesus saith unto him， Rise， take up thy bed， and walk.

　　5：9 那人立刻痊愈，就拿起褥子走了。

　　And immediately the man was made whole， and took up his bed， and walked： and on the same day was the sabbath.

　　5：10 那天是安息日，所以猶太人對(duì)那醫(yī)好的人說(shuō)，今天是安息日，你拿褥子是不可以的。

　　The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured， It is the sabbath day： it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

　　5：11 他卻回答說(shuō)，那使我痊愈的，對(duì)我說(shuō)，拿你的褥子走吧。

　　He answered them， He that made me whole， the same said unto me， Take up thy bed， and walk.

　　5：12 他們問(wèn)他說(shuō)，對(duì)你說(shuō)拿褥子走的，是什么人。

　　Then asked they him， What man is that which said unto thee， Take up thy bed， and walk？

　　5：13 那醫(yī)好的人不知道是誰(shuí)。因?yàn)槟抢锏娜硕?，耶穌已經(jīng)躲開(kāi)了。

　　And he that was healed wist not who it was： for Jesus had conveyed himself away， a multitude being in that place.

　　5：14 后來(lái)耶穌在殿里遇見(jiàn)他，對(duì)他說(shuō)，你已經(jīng)痊愈了。不要再犯罪?？峙履阍庥龅母永?。

　　Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple， and said unto him， Behold， thou art made whole： sin no more， lest a worse thing come unto thee.

　　5：15 那人就去告訴猶太人，使他痊愈的是耶穌。

　　The man departed， and told the Jews that it was Jesus， which had made him whole.

　　5：16 所以猶太人逼迫耶穌，因?yàn)樗诎蚕⑷兆髁诉@事。

　　And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus， and sought to slay him， because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

　　5：17 耶穌就對(duì)他們說(shuō)，我父作事到如今，我也作事。

　　But Jesus answered them， My Father worketh hitherto， and I work.

　　5：18 所以猶太人越發(fā)想要?dú)⑺?。因他不但犯了安息日，并且稱(chēng)神為他的父，將自己和神當(dāng)作平等。

　　Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him， because he not only had broken the sabbath， but said also that God was his Father， making himself equal with God.

　　5：19 耶穌對(duì)他們說(shuō)，我實(shí)實(shí)在在的告訴你們，子憑著自己不能作什么，惟有看見(jiàn)父所作的，子才能作。父所作的事，子也照樣作。

　　Then answered Jesus and said unto them， Verily， verily， I say unto you， The Son can do nothing of himself， but what he seeth the Father do： for what things soever he doeth， these also doeth the Son likewise.

　　5：20 愛(ài)子，將自己所作的一切事指給他看。還要將比這更大的事指給他看，叫你們希奇。

　　For the Father loveth the Son， and sheweth him all things that himself doeth： and he will shew him greater works than these， that ye may marvel.

　　5：21 父怎樣叫死人起來(lái)，使他們活著，子也照樣隨自己的意思使人活著。

　　For as the Father raiseth up the dead， and quickeneth them； even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

　　5：22 父不審判什么人，乃將審判的事全交與子。

　　For the Father judgeth no man， but hath committed all judgment unto the Son：

　　5：23 叫人都尊敬子，如同尊敬父一樣。不尊敬子的，就是不尊敬差子來(lái)的父。

　　That all men should honour the Son， even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

　　5：24 我實(shí)實(shí)在在的告訴你們，那聽(tīng)我話，又信差我來(lái)者的，就有永生，不至于定罪，是已經(jīng)出死入生了。

　　Verily， verily， I say unto you， He that heareth my word， and believeth on him that sent me， hath everlasting life， and shall not come into condemnation； but is passed from death unto life.

　　5：25 我實(shí)實(shí)在在的告訴你們，時(shí)候?qū)⒌?，現(xiàn)在就是了，死人要聽(tīng)見(jiàn)神兒子的聲音。聽(tīng)見(jiàn)的人就要活了。

　　Verily， verily， I say unto you， The hour is coming， and now is， when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God： and they that hear shall live.

　　5：26 因?yàn)楦冈鯓釉谧约河猩?，就賜給他兒子也照樣在自己有生命。

　　For as the Father hath life in himself； so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself；

　　5：27 并且因?yàn)樗侨俗?，就賜給他行審判的權(quán)柄。

　　And hath given him authority to execute judgment also， because he is the Son of man.

　　5：28 你們不要把這事看作希奇。時(shí)候要到，凡在墳?zāi)估锏模家?tīng)見(jiàn)他的聲音，就出來(lái)。

　　Marvel not at this： for the hour is coming， in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice，

　　5：29 行善的復(fù)活得生，作惡的復(fù)活定罪。

　　And shall come forth； they that have done good， unto the resurrection of life； and they that have done evil， unto the resurrection of damnation.

　　5：30 我憑著自己不能作什么。我怎嗎聽(tīng)見(jiàn)，就怎嗎審判。我的審判也是公平的。因?yàn)槲也磺笞约旱囊馑?，只求那差我?lái)者的意思。

　　I can of mine own self do nothing： as I hear， I judge： and my judgment is just； because I seek not mine own will， but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

　　5：31 我若為自己作見(jiàn)證，我的見(jiàn)證就不真。

　　If I bear witness of myself， my witness is not true.

　　5：32 另有一位給我作見(jiàn)證。我也知道他給我作的見(jiàn)證是真的。

　　There is another that beareth witness of me； and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.

　　5：33 你們?cè)钊说郊s翰那里，他為真理作過(guò)見(jiàn)證。

　　Ye sent unto John， and he bare witness unto the truth.

　　5：34 其實(shí)我所受的見(jiàn)證，不是從人來(lái)的。然而我說(shuō)這些話，為要叫你們得救。

　　But I receive not testimony from man： but these things I say， that ye might be saved.

　　5：35 約翰是點(diǎn)著的明燈。你們情愿暫時(shí)喜歡他的光。

　　He was a burning and a shining light： and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

　　5：36 但我有比約翰更大的見(jiàn)證。因?yàn)楦附唤o我要我成就的事，就是我所作的事，這便見(jiàn)證我是父所差來(lái)的。

　　But I have greater witness than that of John： for the works which the Father hath given me to finish， the same works that I do， bear witness of me， that the Father hath sent me.

　　5：37 差我來(lái)的父，也為我作過(guò)見(jiàn)證。你們從來(lái)沒(méi)有聽(tīng)見(jiàn)他的聲音，也沒(méi)有看見(jiàn)他的形像。

　　And the Father himself， which hath sent me， hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time， nor seen his shape.

　　5：38 你們并沒(méi)有他的道存在心里。因?yàn)樗顏?lái)的，你們不信。

　　And ye have not his word abiding in you： for whom he hath sent， him ye believe not.

　　5：39 你們查考圣經(jīng)。（或作應(yīng)當(dāng)查考圣經(jīng)）因你們以為內(nèi)中有永生。給我作見(jiàn)證的就是這經(jīng)。

　　Search the scriptures； for in them ye think ye have eternal life： and they are they which testify of me.

　　5：40 然而你們不肯到我這里來(lái)得生命。

　　And ye will not come to me， that ye might have life.

　　5：41 我不受從人來(lái)的榮耀。

　　I receive not honour from men.

　　5：42 但我知道你們心里，沒(méi)有神的愛(ài)。

　　But I know you， that ye have not the love of God in you.

　　5：43 我奉我父的名來(lái)，你們并不接待我。若有別人奉自己的名來(lái)，你們倒要接待他。

　　I am come in my Father's name， and ye receive me not： if another shall come in his own name， him ye will receive.

　　5：44 你們要互相受榮耀，卻不求從獨(dú)一之神來(lái)的榮耀，怎能信我呢。

　　How can ye believe， which receive honour one of another， and seek not the honour that cometh from God only？

　　5：45 不要想我在父面前要告你們。有一位告你們的，就是你們所仰賴的摩西。

　　Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father： there is one that accuseth you， even Moses， in whom ye trust.

　　5：46 你們?nèi)绻拍ξ?，也必信我。因?yàn)樗麜?shū)上有指著我寫(xiě)的話。

　　For had ye believed Moses， ye would have believed me： for he wrote of me.

　　5：47 你們?nèi)舨恍潘臅?shū)，怎能信我的話呢。

　　But if ye believe not his writings， how shall ye believe my words？
