Responsible travel is very well expressed in the famous travelers saying:Take nothing but pictures,leave nothing but footprints,kill nothing but time.Travelling is every one’s way of getting away from the hustle and bustle of life and sometimes,because we are so engrossed in our desire to enjoy and have fun,we tend to forget that the we only have one earth to live on and that we are all responsible for it.

Very often,we are not conscious enough to realize that one little candy wrapper that we threw outside the bus while travelling could one day contribute to the blocking of the drainage system and could cause flooding in the area; we are not aware enough of the fact that the litter we throw away carelessly might one day turn the place into a trash dump; we are not considerate enough to see the tree we attempt to climb might be over 500 years old and can hardly bear our weight.

I think we should understand that travelling should not be seen as something that is human-centered.It should be understood that when we travel,we should feel honored that we could still see and enjoy the beauty of the world.We,as a human being,should be responsible for the few of the remaining beautiful places in this planet.Being responsible doesn’t necessarily mean that we are required to do something grand for the environment.It’s those little things that matter the most.If everybody starts doing those little things,I bet it could change the world.

Many people are active in fighting against unfair treatment to colored people, women , animals and so on. Right now I am talking about fighting for respect to our environment. In the early years the Chinese cut down large quantities of trees, at the source of the yellow river, which led to the disappearance of big forests and terrible floods. As a result,the Huangtu plateau which was once covered with grass and forests was turned into barrens that supported fewer plants. Another example was in several developed countries. Because many chemical factories discharged poisonous gas without filtering it, cities were covered with so much poisonous gas that people were killed by the air they breathed in. What horrible scene!

What we are suffering is only a small part of what the nature once suffered. If we don’t take action to show respect to the environment, we will have to face an increasingly awful situation.

Measures should be taken to protect the environment on which we are relying. First governments should forbid destroying vegetation, rivers and lakes, oceans, as and the atmosphere as well. Second voices should be made to announce the public of the importance of protecting the environment. Third enterprises should pay special attention to the effect they have on the environment and work out solutions for the problems.

Only by changing the way we treat the environment can we get along well with it. Only by saving the environment can we save ourselves.

Human activity has damaged natural environment and almostexaustednatural resources. Modern industry needs more and moreresources,including minerals, fuels and water. So we confront ofthe seriousproblems such as the lack of fuels and water.Ecological balance isdamaged because factories occupy many placeswhere animals andplants live. More and more buildings areconstructed and forestsbecome less and less. If we cannotrecognize these problems andsolve them soon, we would finally losethe environment suitable forour living.

An other serious problem is the green-house effect.Humanactivity decreases forests and increases the usage of fuels sothatthe gas of carbon dioxide is output more and more and there arenotenough plants to absorb it. The green-house effect is moreobviousand more sensible these years. Due to the effect, icebergsin thesouth polar and north polar melt and the sea level becomeshigherthan before. I am worried about the cities nearby the sea andhopescientists find an effective method to eliminate thegreen-houseeffect.

Although we have advanced machines and our life seemsmorecomfortable than before, we have less chances to approachnaturesand less spaces to act. The cities become bigger and if wewant tohave a picnic with our friends, we have to drive a longdistance tofind a natural place. In fact, the spaces of humanactivity arebeing damaged by the skyscrapers and factories.

From the above statements, we can conclude that humanactivitybrings the Earth many damages. Fortunately people haverecognizedthe point and I believe that the Earth will become abetter placeto live with our ceaseless efforts.
