With the development of market economy, advertisements have become a dominant feature in television industry. Despite the rich information brought by TV, there still exists strong CRIticism against TV advertisement. Write an article analyzing the positive and negative effects of TV advertisements.
Everywhere and almost at any time, we may find ourselves surrounded by all kinds of advertisements, advertisements on TV , in newspaper, on buses, on streets, on a small ball pen ….We may safely declare that we live in a world of advertisements.
On one hand, this world is flooded with many fictitious advertisements. Firstly, advertisements are not always truthful. Many advertisements are misleading and flying in the face of truth. Secondly, advertisements may give rise to unhealthy competition among businessmen. Thirdly, good products don’t need to be advertised
On the other hand, there is no denying that TV can vastly enrich the life of people. Firstly, TV programs can be received everywhere all over the world, the most important point is that you need not to pay any fee for the TV station. All these expenses of the TV station are being paid from television advertisements. Secondly, bring conveniences to people’s lives, helps consumers to select goods. Thirdly, advertisements have become a beautiful ornament to our life, making our life colorful with beautiful artistic pictures and words.
In fact, it becomes indispensable to our present-day life. It would be foolish to throw away the baby with the bath water. Our government should levy heavier income tax in advertisements. We should do is to impose bans on the false and deceptive advertisements, while encouraging the healthy development of advertising industry.
