in july 1945, the american cruiser indianapolis delivered to guam the atomic bombs to be dropped on hiroshima and nagasaki. on her return trip, the cruiser was torpedoed by a japanese submarine. more than 800 of her crew survived the explosions and were pitched into the sea, where they were attacked by dozens of sharks. before long, many of the men resorted to drinking seawater and yielded to madness and death. for five days, the men remained in the water, with the sharks decimating their numbers, before they were spotted by an american aircraft. only 318 of the crew survived the experience.
一九四五年七月，美國巡洋艦印第安納波利斯號把原子彈送到關(guān)島，準(zhǔn)備轟炸廣島、長崎，回航時(shí)遭日本潛艇魚雷擊中，有八百多名船員僥幸沒炸死，掉進(jìn)海，但海又有幾十條鯊魚向他們襲擊。不久，不少人就支持不住，喝海水，瘋了死了。那些船員在水過了五天，很多都葬身鯊魚腹中，最后才有一架美國飛機(jī)發(fā)現(xiàn)他們。大難不死的船員不過三百一十八人。
