What would you say to grandma?
My three-year-old brother had been told several times to get ready for bed. The last time my mom told him, she was very insistent. His response was, "yes, sir！" Since he was talking to my mom, we didn't expect him to call her "sir".
"You would say, 'yes, sir！' to a man. I'm a lady, and you would say 'yes, ma'am,' to a lady," mom said. To quiz him on his lesson, she then asked him, "What would you say to Daddy？"
"Yes, sir！" came the reply.
"Then what would you say to Mama？"
"Yes, ma'am！" he proudly answered.
"Good boy！ What would you say to grandma？"
He lit up and said, "Can I have a cookie？"
我三歲大的弟弟被叫了好幾遍去上床睡覺。最后一次我媽媽用很堅決的語氣對他說時,他回答道:“是的,先生！”因為他在和我媽媽說話,我們都沒有想到他會稱呼我媽媽為先生。
“對男士可以說'是的,先生。'我是女士,對女士你要說,'是的,女士'.”媽媽說道。為了測一測他,她接著問他:“你對爸爸說什么？”
“是的,先生！”他回答。
“那你對媽媽說什么呀？”
“是的,女士！”他驕傲的回答。
“好孩子！那你對奶奶說什么呢？”
他舔了舔嘴唇,說:“我可以要塊甜餅嗎？”
