第一單元
1. 一個人的實際能力才是企業所真正看重的。
It is one’s practical capability that enterprises truly value.
(這句話用強調句句型表達效果比較好。)
2. 我認為我們發明一種新的語言來取代英語是沒有必要的.
I don’t think it necessary to invent a new kind of language to take the place of English.
(這句話有太多的同學用"instead of"來表示“取代”的意思，再次強調，instead of是介詞詞組，表示"……而不是……"的意思。)
3. 然而，關于它是一件好事還是壞事，人們有不同的態度。
People, nevertheless, hold various opinions in terms of the issue whether it is a blessing or a curse.
(這句話有很多人用"good thing"和"bad thing"表示“好事”和“壞事”，在書面語中推薦用blessing和curse，絕對的less common vocabulary!)
4. 很多國家的失業率在不斷攀升這一事實是我們無法否認的。
The fact that the unemployment rates in quite a number of countries keep rising can not be denied.
5. 在給出我的觀點之前，我認為看一看問題的兩面是很重要的。
I hold it essential to examine the both sides of the issue before presenting my viewpoint.
(這句話有幾個重點：首先表示“看一看”不宜用"look at"，那是“盯著……看”的意思，examine是“仔細審視”的意思，用在這里正合適。“問題”在這里應該用issue而不是problem，因為problem相當于trouble，一定是負面的。Issue表示“有爭議的問題”，大家記住，雅思作文里討論的話題絕大多數都屬于issue。此外，present屬于less common vocabulary,是“give”的升級版。)
6. 不同的人們對于全球化是否有利于經濟的發展這個問題持有不同的看法.
Different people hold various viewpoints as to the issue whether globalization is beneficial to the economic development.
7. 令人感到遺憾的是大多數人所在乎的僅僅就只是他們怎么樣才能更多地賺到錢。
It is a pity that all the majority of people care about is how they could be paid more.
8. 隨著越來越多的婦女參與全職工作，由誰來照顧孩子已經成為了社會上的一個問題。
With increasing number of women taking part in full-time jobs, who should take care of children has become a social issue.
(注意with引導的成分名詞后面必須跟動詞的ing形式，很多同學這一題一上來就寫"With more and more women take part in full-time job"是錯誤的。)
第二單元：定語從句
1. (Letter) 我們這次還是約在上次一起吃晚飯的餐廳見面吧!
Let’s meet at the restaurant where we had dinner together last time!
2. (寫作) 環境保護是一個如今為人們廣為討論的一個話題。
The environmental protection is a topic (which is) widely discussed by people nowadays.
3. (寫作) 我們必須承認，那些反對此觀點的人們也有一定的道理。
Admittedly, those who oppose to the viewpoint also have their reasons to a certain extent.
4. (寫作) 人們往往會和觀念與自己相近的人交朋友。
People tend to make friends with those people whose viewpoints are similar to their own.
People tend to make friends with those who share similar viewpoints to their own.
5. (寫作) 手提電腦如今如此普及的一個重要原因就是它的使用方便。
A major reason why lap-tops are so popular nowadays is that it is easy to use.
