Current effects: high demand for educational investment
Future effects: sufficient labor force, but intense competition in job application when they graduate from universities,high unemployment rate
Problems:
Individuals: higher burden for working adults, who have to take care of their old families and relatives ; pay high tax to support the elderly in the society
Government/society: have to pay for the pension and medical insurance for the retired; labor shortage
Benefits:
the elderly have much experience and knowledge to share; compared with the youth, they are more able to endure hardship and they work harder; they can continue to make contribution to our society by being involved in training, consulting and voluntary work
