　　Private cars, often regarded as luxury goods, arereported to have been bought by many collegestudents orby their parents as birthday gifts in therecent. This phenomenon can also find itsexpression in the driver’s license rush for manycollege students. During summer or winter vacation,sometimes even on weekends,many college studentswould attend driving courses. Though learning to drive can give college graduates acutting edgein job market, I do not think it is necessary for college students to own private cars in thisparticular episode of lives.

　　私家車，人們通常把它叫做奢侈品，據報道，許多大學生購買私家車，或是家長送給學生的生日禮物。如今，大學生扎堆考駕照，這也能夠說明這種現象。在寒暑假，甚至是在周末，大學生就會去參加駕校課程。大學生學車，這對于他們找工作是很有好處的，但是，我認為大學生沒有必要購買私家車，特別是在這樣的年齡段。

　　Firstly, according to some news coverage, the majority of private cars owned by collegestudents are purchased by their parents instead of by themselves. Of course, there are somewealthy families that can easilyafford private cars, but it does nothing to change the fact thatcollege students rely on their parents for tuition fees and living expenditure. In terms ofpersonal growth, owning private cars bought by parents do not help college students cherishthe value of self-reliance. Some educationalists worry that in the long run those students tendto become lazy, which is harmful to college students’improvement.

　　第一，根據新聞報道，大學生購買的私家車都是父母給學生購買的，而不是自己購買的。當然，有一些富裕的家庭能夠買得起私家車，但是這卻改變不了大學生的學習都是父母提供的學費和生活費。就個人發展來說，家長為學生購買的私家車不會幫助學生意識到自力更生的價值。許多教育學家擔心從長遠來講學生會變得更為懶惰，這對于學生的發展不利。

　　Secondly, private cars are not basic necessities without which college students can not carrythrough their pursuit of higher degrees. Both professors and college students can figure outthe underlying reason forsome students owning private cars is to show off. As I havementioned above, the majority of college students still depend on their parents for tuition feesand living expenditure, but owning private cars contribute nothing to showing off their ownpersonal highlight. In actuality, we do admire that those private carowners have wealthyparents, but at the bottom of our heart we severely detest those classmates. We can easily findout that showing off indicates the very insecurity and lack of confidence in studies andpersonal cultivation.Furthermore, as some college students are still yet to be mature, they caneasily become jealous. For those immature students, they are more likely to form the beliefthat the society is unfair.

　　第二，私家車并不是必需品，擁有這些，學生就不能夠追尋更好的學習。老師和學生了解到學生擁有私家車的原因就是為了炫耀。就像我上述所說，絕大部分的大學生還要依靠父母來支付學費和生活費，但是擁有私家車并不能夠讓他們炫耀資本。無可否認的是，這些擁有私家車的學生家庭富裕，但是憑心而論，我非常看不起他們。我們很容易看到炫耀其實是缺乏安全感、自信、個人成就的一種表現。而且，學生還沒有表現得非常成熟，他們會很容易嫉妒別人。對于這些不成熟的學生，他們很有可能認為社會是不公平的。

　　In conclusion, as college students can not provide for themselves, how can they dare to asktheir parents to buy cars for them? Owning private cars only indicates inner insecurity and lackof confidence for thosestudents, and arouses jealousy among peers. Therefore, I think it isunwise to own private cars for college students.

　　總結，因為學生無法自食其力，他們又為什么能向父母索要汽車呢?學生駕駛私家車只能證明他們缺乏安全感，缺乏自信，這會使得學生之間產生嫉妒心。所以，我認為學生購買私家車是不明智的。
