Industrial Design student Preston Moeller from America has created a rather unique chair himself using 65,000 colorful rubber bands.

Inspired by a friend who suggested that he use office supplies to make something “truly unique”, Moeller, 26, spent 336 hours designing and building his one-of-a-kind office chair.

The rubber band chair, with a wire frame hidden beneath the rubber bands to support, stands three feet tall and weighs 35lbs. It can support the weight of a grown adult and gives a bit of a bounce and flexibility when sat upon.
這把橡皮筋椅子高3英尺(約0.9米)，重35磅(約16公斤)，橡皮筋下面隱藏著用于支撐的椅架。它能承受一個成年人的重量，坐在上面還會有些許反彈的感覺。
On his personal website, Moeller reported that the chair was proving to be incredibly hardy. “I have been using it for the last couple months as my computer chair and it still looks as good as new”, he wrote.

Moeller’s colorful creation earned him the $3,000 first prize in the Appalachian State University’s 6th Annual Chair Design Competition.

The chair was even shown off during New York Design Week as part of the Industrial Designers Society of America’s booth.
