舊約 -- 約伯記(Job) -- 第41章
41：1 你能用魚鉤釣上鱷魚嗎。能用繩子壓下它的舌頭嗎。
Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook？ or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down？
41：2 你能用繩索穿它的鼻子嗎。能用鉤穿它的腮骨嗎。
Canst thou put an hook into his nose？ or bore his jaw through with a thorn？
41：3 它豈向你連連懇求，說柔和的話嗎。
Will he make many supplications unto thee？ will he speak soft words unto thee？
41：4 豈肯與你立約，使你拿它永遠作奴仆嗎。
Will he make a covenant with thee？ wilt thou take him for a servant for ever？
41：5 你豈可拿它當雀鳥玩耍嗎。豈可為你的幼女將它拴住嗎。
Wilt thou play with him as with a bird？ or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens？
41：6 搭夥的漁夫豈可拿它當貨物嗎。能把它分給商人嗎。
Shall the companions make a banquet of him？ shall they part him among the merchants？
41：7 你能用倒鉤槍扎滿它的皮，能用魚叉叉滿它的頭嗎。
Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons？ or his head with fish spears？
41：8 你按手在它身上，想與它爭戰，就不再這樣行吧。
Lay thine hand upon him， remember the battle， do no more.
41：9 人指望捉拿它是徒然的。一見它，豈不喪膽嗎。
Behold， the hope of him is in vain： shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him？
41：10 沒有那嗎兇猛的人敢惹它。這樣，誰能在我面前刪立得住呢。
None is so fierce that dare stir him up： who then is able to stand before me？
41：11 誰先給我什么，使我償還呢。天下萬物都是我的。
Who hath prevented me， that I should repay him？ whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.
41：12 論到鱷魚的肢體和其大力，并美好的骨骼，我不能緘默不言。
I will not conceal his parts， nor his power， nor his comely proportion.
41：13 誰能剝它的外衣。誰能進它上下牙骨之間呢。
Who can discover the face of his garment？ or who can come to him with his double bridle？
41：14 誰能開它的腮頰。它牙齒四圍是可畏的。
Who can open the doors of his face？ his teeth are terrible round about.
41：15 它以堅固的鱗甲為可夸，緊緊合閉，封得嚴密。
His scales are his pride， shut up together as with a close seal.
41：16 這鱗甲一一相連，甚至氣不得透入其間，One is so near to another， that no air can come between them.
41：17 都是互相聯絡，膠結，不能分離。
They are joined one to another， they stick together， that they cannot be sundered.
41：18 它打噴嚏就發出光來。它眼睛好像早晨的光線（原文作眼皮）。
By his neesings a light doth shine， and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
41：19 從它口中發出燒著的火把，與飛迸的火星。
Out of his mouth go burning lamps， and sparks of fire leap out.
41：20 從它鼻孔冒出煙來，如燒開的鍋和點著的蘆葦。
Out of his nostrils goeth smoke， as out of a seething pot or caldron.
41：21 它的氣點著煤炭，有火焰從它口中發出。
His breath kindleth coals， and a flame goeth out of his mouth.
41：22 它頸項中存著勁力。在它面前的都恐嚇蹦跳。
In his neck remaineth strength， and sorrow is turned into joy before him.
41：23 它的肉塊互相聯絡，緊貼其身，不能搖動。
The flakes of his flesh are joined together： they are firm in themselves； they cannot be moved.
41：24 它的心結實如石頭，如下磨石那樣結實。
His heart is as firm as a stone； yea， as hard as a piece of the nether millstone.
41：25 它一起來，勇士都驚恐，心里慌亂，便都昏迷。
When he raiseth up himself， the mighty are afraid： by reason of breakings they purify themselves.
41：26 人若用刀，用槍，用標槍，用尖槍扎它，都是無用。
The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold： the spear， the dart， nor the habergeon.
41：27 它以鐵為乾草，以銅為爛木。
He esteemeth iron as straw， and brass as rotten wood.
41：28 箭不能恐嚇它使它逃避。彈石在它看為碎秸。
The arrow cannot make him flee： slingstones are turned with him into stubble.
41：29 棍棒算為禾秸。它嗤笑短槍颼的響聲。
Darts are counted as stubble： he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.
41：30 它肚腹下如尖瓦片，它如釘耙經過淤泥。
Sharp stones are under him： he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire.
41：31 它使深淵開滾如鍋，使洋海如鍋中的膏油。
He maketh the deep to boil like a pot： he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.
41：32 它行的路隨后發光，令人想深淵如同白發。
He maketh a path to shine after him； one would think the deep to be hoary.
41：33 在地上沒有像它造的那樣，無所懼怕。
Upon earth there is not his like， who is made without fear.
41：34 凡高大的，它無不藐視。它在驕傲的水族上作王。
He beholdeth all high things： he is a king over all the children of pride.
