舊約 -- 箴言(Proverbs) -- 第24章
24：1 你不要嫉妒惡人，也不要起意與他們相處。
Be not thou envious against evil men， neither desire to be with them.
24：2 因為他們的心，圖謀強暴。他們的口談論奸惡。
For their heart studieth destruction， and their lips talk of mischief.
24：3 房屋因智慧建造，又因聰明立穩。
Through wisdom is an house builded； and by understanding it is established：
24：4 其中因知識充滿各樣美好寶貴的財物。
And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
24：5 智慧人大有能力。有知識的人，力上加力。
A wise man is strong； yea， a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
24：6 你去打仗，要憑智謀。謀士眾多，人便得勝。
For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war： and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
24：7 智慧極高，非愚昧人所能及，所以在城門內，不敢開口。
Wisdom is too high for a fool： he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
24：8 設計作惡的，必稱為奸人。
He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
24：9 愚妄人的思念，乃是罪惡。褻慢者為人所憎惡。
The thought of foolishness is sin： and the scorner is an abomination to men.
24：10 你在患難之日若膽怯，你的力量就微小。
If thou faint in the day of adversity， thy strength is small.
24：11 人被拉到死地，你要解救。人將被殺，你須攔阻。
If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death， and those that are ready to be slain；
24：12 你若說，這事我未曾知道。那衡量人心的，豈不明白嗎。保守你命的，豈不知道嗎。他豈不按各人所行的，報應各人嗎。
If thou sayest， Behold， we knew it not； doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it？ and he that keepeth thy soul， doth not he know it？ and shall not he render to every man according to his works？
24：13 我兒，你要吃蜜，因為是好的。吃蜂房下滴的蜜，更覺甘甜。
My son， eat thou honey， because it is good； and the honeycomb， which is sweet to thy taste：
24：14 你心得了智慧，也必覺的如此。你若找著，至終必有善報。你的指望，也不至斷絕。
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul： when thou hast found it， then there shall be a reward， and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
24：15 你這惡人，不要埋伏攻擊義人的家。不要毀壞他安居之所。
Lay not wait， O wicked man， against the dwelling of the righteous； spoil not his resting place：
24：16 因為義人雖七次跌倒，仍必興起。惡人卻被禍患傾倒。
For a just man falleth seven times， and riseth up again： but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
24：17 你仇敵跌倒，你不要歡喜。他傾倒，你心不要快樂。
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth， and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth：
24：18 恐怕耶和華看見就不喜悅，將怒氣從仇敵身上轉過來。
Lest the LORD see it， and it displease him， and he turn away his wrath from him.
24：19 不要為作惡的心懷不平。也不要嫉妒惡人。
Fret not thyself because of evil men， neither be thou envious at the wicked；
24：20 因為惡人終不得善報。惡人的燈也必熄滅。
For there shall be no reward to the evil man； the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
24：21 我兒，你要敬畏耶和華與君王。不要與反覆無常的人結交。
My son， fear thou the LORD and the king： and meddle not with them that are given to change：
24：22 因為他們的災難，必忽然而起。耶和華與君王所施行的毀滅，誰能知道呢。
For their calamity shall rise suddenly； and who knoweth the ruin of them both？
24：23 以下也是智慧人的箴言。審判時看人的情面，是不好的。
These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
24：24 對惡人說，你是義人的，這人萬民必咒詛，列邦必憎惡。
He that saith unto the wicked， Thou art righteous； him shall the people curse， nations shall abhor him：
24：25 責備惡人的，必得喜悅。美好的福，也必臨到他。
But to them that rebuke him shall be delight， and a good blessing shall come upon them.
24：26 應對正直的，猶如與人親嘴。
Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.
24：27 你要在外頭豫備工料，在田間辦理整齊，然后建造房屋。
Prepare thy work without， and make it fit for thyself in the field； and afterwards build thine house.
24：28 不可無故作見證，陷害鄰舍。也不可用嘴欺騙人。
Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause； and deceive not with thy lips.
24：29 不可說，人怎樣對待我，我也怎樣待他，我必照他所行的報復他。
Say not， I will do so to him as he hath done to me： I will render to the man according to his work.
24：30 我經過懶惰人的田地，無知人的葡萄園。
I went by the field of the slothful， and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding；
24：31 荊棘長滿了地皮，刺草遮蓋了田面，石墻也坍塌了。
And， lo， it was all grown over with thorns， and nettles had covered the face thereof， and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
24：32 我看見就留心思想，我看著就領了訓誨。
Then I saw， and considered it well： I looked upon it， and received instruction.
24：33 再睡片時，打盹片時，抱著手躺臥片時，Yet a little sleep， a little slumber， a little folding of the hands to sleep：
24：34 你的貧窮，就必如強盜速來，你的缺乏，彷佛拿兵器的人來到。
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth； and thy want as an armed man.
