22：1 以色列人起行，在摩押平原，約旦河?xùn)|，對(duì)著耶利哥安營(yíng)。
And the children of Israel set forward， and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho.
22：2 以色列人向亞摩利人所行的一切事，西撥的兒子巴勒都看見了。
And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites.
22：3 摩押人因以色列民甚多，就大大懼怕，心內(nèi)憂急，And Moab was sore afraid of the people， because they were many： and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.
22：4 對(duì)米甸的長(zhǎng)老說，現(xiàn)在這眾人要把我們四圍所有的一概舔盡，就如牛舔盡田間的草一般。那時(shí)西撥的兒子巴勒作摩押王。
And Moab said unto the elders of Midian， Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us， as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.
22：5 他差遣使者往大河邊的毗奪去，到比珥的兒子巴蘭本鄉(xiāng)那里，召巴蘭來，說，有一宗民從埃及出來，遮滿地面，與我對(duì)居。
He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor， which is by the river of the land of the children of his people， to call him， saying， Behold， there is a people come out from Egypt： behold， they cover the face of the earth， and they abide over against me：
22：6 這民比我強(qiáng)盛，現(xiàn)在求你來為我咒詛他們，或者我能得勝，攻打他們，趕出此地。因?yàn)槲抑?，你為誰祝福，誰就得福。你咒詛誰，誰就受咒詛。
Come now therefore， I pray thee， curse me this people； for they are too mighty for me： peradventure I shall prevail， that we may smite them， and that I may drive them out of the land： for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed， and he whom thou cursest is cursed.
22：7 摩押的長(zhǎng)老和米甸的長(zhǎng)老手里拿著卦金，到了巴蘭那里，將巴勒的話都告訴了他。
And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand； and they came unto Balaam， and spake unto him the words of Balak.
22：8 巴蘭說，你們今夜在這里住宿，我必照耶和華所曉諭我的回報(bào)你們。摩押的使臣就在巴蘭那里住下了。
And he said unto them， Lodge here this night， and I will bring you word again， as the LORD shall speak unto me： and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.
22：9 神臨到巴蘭那里，說，在你這里的人都是誰，And God came unto Balaam， and said， What men are these with thee？
22：10 巴蘭回答說，是摩押王西撥的兒子巴勒打發(fā)人到我這里來，說，And Balaam said unto God， Balak the son of Zippor， king of Moab， hath sent unto me， saying，
22：11 從埃及出來的民遮滿地面，你來為我咒詛他們，或者我能與他們爭(zhēng)戰(zhàn)，把他們趕出去。
Behold， there is a people come out of Egypt， which covereth the face of the earth： come now， curse me them； peradventure I shall be able to overcome them， and drive them out.
22：12 神對(duì)巴蘭說，你不可同他們?nèi)ィ膊豢芍湓{那民，因?yàn)槟敲袷敲筛５摹?/p>
And God said unto Balaam， Thou shalt not go with them； thou shalt not curse the people： for they are blessed.
22：13 巴蘭早晨起來，對(duì)巴勒的使臣說，你們回本地去吧，因?yàn)橐腿A不容我和你們同去。
And Balaam rose up in the morning， and said unto the princes of Balak， Get you into your land： for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to go with you.
22：14 摩押的使臣就起來，回巴勒那里去，說，巴蘭不肯和我們同來。
And the princes of Moab rose up， and they went unto Balak， and said， Balaam refuseth to come with us.
22：15 巴勒又差遣使臣，比先前的又多又尊貴。
And Balak sent yet again princes， more， and more honourable than they.
22：16 他們到了巴蘭那里，對(duì)他說，西撥的兒子巴勒這樣說，求你不容什么事攔阻你不到我這里來，And they came to Balaam， and said to him， Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor， Let nothing， I pray thee， hinder thee from coming unto me：
22：17 因?yàn)槲冶厥鼓愕脴O大的尊榮。你向我要什么，我就給你什么。只求你來為我咒詛這民。
For I will promote thee unto very great honour， and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me： come therefore， I pray thee， curse me this people.
22：18 巴蘭回答巴勒的臣仆說，巴勒就是將他滿屋的金銀給我，我行大事小事也不得越過耶和華我神的命。
And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak， If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold， I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God， to do less or more.
22：19 現(xiàn)在我請(qǐng)你們今夜在這里住宿，等我得知耶和華還要對(duì)我說什么。
Now therefore， I pray you， tarry ye also here this night， that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.
22：20 當(dāng)夜，神臨到巴蘭那里，說，這些人若來召你，你就起來同他們?nèi)ィ阒灰裥形覍?duì)你所說的話。
And God came unto Balaam at night， and said unto him， If the men come to call thee， rise up， and go with them； but yet the word which I shall say unto thee， that shalt thou do.
22：21 巴蘭早晨起來，備上驢，和摩押的使臣一同去了。
And Balaam rose up in the morning， and saddled his ass， and went with the princes of Moab.
22：22 神因他去就發(fā)了怒。耶和華的使者站在路上敵擋他。他騎著驢，有兩個(gè)仆人跟隨他。
And God's anger was kindled because he went： and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass， and his two servants were with him.
22：23 驢看見耶和華的使者站在路上，手里有拔出來的刀，就從路上跨進(jìn)田間，巴蘭便打驢，要叫它回轉(zhuǎn)上路。
And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way， and his sword drawn in his hand： and the ass turned aside out of the way， and went into the field： and Balaam smote the ass， to turn her into the way.
22：24 耶和華的使者就站在葡萄園的窄路上。這邊有墻，那邊也有墻。
But the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyards， a wall being on this side， and a wall on that side.
22：25 驢看見耶和華的使者，就貼靠墻，將巴蘭的腳擠傷了。巴蘭又打驢。
And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD， she thrust herself unto the wall， and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall： and he smote her again.
22：26 耶和華的使者又往前去，站在狹窄之處，左右都沒有轉(zhuǎn)折的地方。
And the angel of the LORD went further， and stood in a narrow place， where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
22：27 驢看見耶和華的使者，就臥在巴蘭底下，巴蘭發(fā)怒，用杖打驢。
And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD， she fell down under Balaam： and Balaam's anger was kindled， and he smote the ass with a staff.
22：28 耶和華叫驢開口，對(duì)巴蘭說，我向你行了什么，你竟打我這三次呢，And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass， and she said unto Balaam， What have I done unto thee， that thou hast smitten me these three times？
22：29 巴蘭對(duì)驢說，因?yàn)槟銘蚺?，我恨不能手中有刀，把你殺了?/p>
And Balaam said unto the ass， Because thou hast mocked me： I would there were a sword in mine hand， for now would I kill thee.
22：30 驢對(duì)巴蘭說，我不是你從小時(shí)直到今日所騎的驢嗎，我素常向你這樣行過嗎，巴蘭說，沒有。
And the ass said unto Balaam， Am not I thine ass， upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day？ was I ever wont to do so unto thee？ And he said， Nay.
22：31 當(dāng)時(shí)，耶和華使巴蘭的眼目明亮，他就看見耶和華的使者站在路上，手里有拔出來的刀，巴蘭便低頭俯伏在地。
Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam， and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way， and his sword drawn in his hand： and he bowed down his head， and fell flat on his face.
22：32 耶和華的使者對(duì)他說，你為何這三次打你的驢呢，我出來敵擋你，因你所行的，在我面前偏僻。
And the angel of the LORD said unto him， Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times？ behold， I went out to withstand thee， because thy way is perverse before me：
22：33 驢看見我就三次從我面前偏過去。驢若沒有偏過去，我早把你殺了，留它存活。
And the ass saw me， and turned from me these three times： unless she had turned from me， surely now also I had slain thee， and saved her alive.
22：34 巴蘭對(duì)耶和華的使者說，我有罪了。我不知道你站在路上阻擋我。你若不喜歡我去，我就轉(zhuǎn)回。
And Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD， I have sinned； for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me： now therefore， if it displease thee， I will get me back again.
22：35 耶和華的使者對(duì)巴蘭說，你同這些人去吧。你只要說我對(duì)你說的話。于是巴蘭同著巴勒的使臣去了。
And the angel of the LORD said unto Balaam， Go with the men： but only the word that I shall speak unto thee， that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.
22：36 巴勒聽見巴蘭來了，就往摩押京城去迎接他。這城是在邊界上，在亞嫩河旁。
And when Balak heard that Balaam was come， he went out to meet him unto a city of Moab， which is in the border of Arnon， which is in the utmost coast.
22：37 巴勒對(duì)巴蘭說，我不是急急地打發(fā)人到你那里去召你嗎，你為何不到我這里來呢，我豈不能使你得尊榮嗎，And Balak said unto Balaam， Did I not earnestly send unto thee to call thee？ wherefore camest thou not unto me？ am I not able indeed to promote thee to honour？
22：38 巴蘭說，我已經(jīng)到你這里來了?，F(xiàn)在我豈能擅自說什么呢，神將什么話傳給我，我就說什么。
And Balaam said unto Balak， Lo， I am come unto thee： have I now any power at all to say any thing？ the word that God putteth in my mouth， that shall I speak.
22：39 巴蘭和巴勒同行，來到基列胡瑣。
And Balaam went with Balak， and they came unto Kirjathhuzoth.
22：40 巴勒宰了（原文作獻(xiàn)）牛羊，送給巴蘭和陪伴的使臣。
And Balak offered oxen and sheep， and sent to Balaam， and to the princes that were with him.
22：41 到了早晨，巴勒領(lǐng)巴蘭到巴力的高處。巴蘭從那里觀看以色列營(yíng)的邊界。
And it came to pass on the morrow， that Balak took Balaam， and brought him up into the high places of Baal， that thence he might see the utmost part of the people.
