18：1 耶和華的話臨到耶利米說(shuō)，The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD， saying，

　　18：2 你起來(lái)，下到窯匠的家里去，我在那里要使你聽我的話。

　　Arise， and go down to the potter's house， and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

　　18：3 我就下到窯匠的家里去，正遇他轉(zhuǎn)輪作器皿。

　　Then I went down to the potter's house， and， behold， he wrought a work on the wheels.

　　18：4 窯匠用泥作的器皿，在他手中作壞了，他又用這泥另作別的器皿。窯匠看怎樣好，就怎樣作。

　　And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter： so he made it again another vessel， as seemed good to the potter to make it.

　　18：5 耶和華的話就臨到我說(shuō)，Then the word of the LORD came to me， saying，

　　18：6 耶和華說(shuō)，以色列家阿，我待你們，豈不能照這窯匠弄泥嗎。以色列家阿，泥在窯匠的手中怎樣，你們?cè)谖业氖种幸苍鯓印?/p>

　　O house of Israel， cannot I do with you as this potter？ saith the LORD. Behold， as the clay is in the potter's hand， so are ye in mine hand， O house of Israel.

　　18：7 我何時(shí)論到一邦或一國(guó)說(shuō)，要拔出，拆毀，毀壞。

　　At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation， and concerning a kingdom， to pluck up， and to pull down， and to destroy it；

　　18：8 我所說(shuō)的那一邦，若是轉(zhuǎn)意離開他們的惡，我就必后悔，不將我想要施行的災(zāi)禍降與他們。

　　If that nation， against whom I have pronounced， turn from their evil， I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

　　18：9 我何時(shí)論到一邦或一國(guó)說(shuō)，要建立，栽植。

　　And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation， and concerning a kingdom， to build and to plant it；

　　18：10 他們?nèi)粜形已壑锌礊閻旱氖拢宦爮奈业脑挘揖捅睾蠡冢粚⑽宜f(shuō)的福氣賜給他們。

　　If it do evil in my sight， that it obey not my voice， then I will repent of the good， wherewith I said I would benefit them.

　　18：11 現(xiàn)在你要對(duì)猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民說(shuō)，耶和華如此說(shuō)，我造出災(zāi)禍攻擊你們，定意刑罰你們。你們各人當(dāng)回頭離開所行的惡道，改正你們的行動(dòng)作為。

　　Now therefore go to， speak to the men of Judah， and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem， saying， Thus saith the LORD； Behold， I frame evil against you， and devise a device against you： return ye now every one from his evil way， and make your ways and your doings good.

　　18：12 他們卻說(shuō)，這是枉然。我們要照自己的計(jì)謀去行。各人隨自己頑梗的惡心作事。

　　And they said， There is no hope： but we will walk after our own devices， and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.

　　18：13 所以，耶和華如此說(shuō)，你們且往各國(guó)訪問，有誰(shuí)聽見這樣的事。以色列民（原文作處女）行了一件極可憎惡的事。

　　Therefore thus saith the LORD； Ask ye now among the heathen， who hath heard such things： the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.

　　18：14 黎巴嫩的雪從田野的磐石上豈能斷絕呢。從遠(yuǎn)處流下的涼水豈能乾涸呢。

　　Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which cometh from the rock of the field？ or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken？

　　18：15 我的百姓竟忘記我，向假神燒香，使他們?cè)谒械穆飞希诠诺郎辖O跌，使他們行沒有修筑的斜路，Because my people hath forgotten me， they have burned incense to vanity， and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths， to walk in paths， in a way not cast up；

　　18：16 以致他們的地令人驚駭，常常嗤笑。凡經(jīng)過這地的必驚駭搖頭。

　　To make their land desolate， and a perpetual hissing； every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished， and wag his head.

　　18：17 我必在仇敵面前分散他們，好像用東風(fēng)吹散一樣。遭難的日子，我必以背向他們，不以面向他們。

　　I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy； I will shew them the back， and not the face， in the day of their calamity.

　　18：18 他們就說(shuō)，來(lái)吧。我們可以設(shè)計(jì)謀害耶利米。因?yàn)槲覀冇屑浪局v律法，智慧人設(shè)謀略，先知說(shuō)預(yù)言，都不能斷絕。來(lái)吧。我們可以用舌頭擊打他，不要理會(huì)他的一切話。

　　Then said they， Come， and let us devise devices against Jeremiah； for the law shall not perish from the priest， nor counsel from the wise， nor the word from the prophet. Come， and let us smite him with the tongue， and let us not give heed to any of his words.

　　18：19 耶和華阿，求你理會(huì)我，且聽那些與我爭(zhēng)競(jìng)之人的話。

　　Give heed to me， O LORD， and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.

　　18：20 豈可以惡報(bào)善呢。他們竟挖坑要害我的性命。求你記念我怎樣站在你面前為他們代求，要使你的忿怒向他們轉(zhuǎn)消。

　　Shall evil be recompensed for good？ for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them， and to turn away thy wrath from them.

　　18：21 故此，愿你將他們的兒女交與饑荒和刀劍。愿他們的妻無(wú)子，且作寡婦。又愿他們的男人被死亡所滅，他們的少年人在陣上被刀擊殺。

　　Therefore deliver up their children to the famine， and pour out their blood by the force of the sword； and let their wives be bereaved of their children， and be widows； and let their men be put to death； let their young men be slain by the sword in battle.

　　18：22 你使敵軍忽然臨到他們的時(shí)候，愿人聽見哀聲從他們的屋內(nèi)發(fā)出。因他們挖坑要捉拿我，暗設(shè)網(wǎng)羅要絆我的腳。

　　Let a cry be heard from their houses， when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them： for they have digged a pit to take me， and hid snares for my feet.

　　18：23 耶和華阿，他們要?dú)⑽业哪且磺杏?jì)謀，你都知道。不要赦免他們的罪孽，也不要從你面前涂抹他們的罪惡，要叫他們?cè)谀忝媲暗埂Ｔ改惆l(fā)怒的時(shí)候罰辦他們。

　　Yet， LORD， thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me： forgive not their iniquity， neither blot out their sin from thy sight， but let them be overthrown before thee； deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.
