Mrs.Smith lived in London. One day she received some American dollars from her daughter who was working in New York.
She went to a jewelry shop for a pair of earrings. At the counter, the salesman checked each note carefully to see if the money was real. It made the old woman impatient. At last she couldn't wait anymore, uttering:
"Trust me, sir, and trust the American dollars. they are directly from America."
史密斯太太住在倫敦，有天她收到在紐約工作的女兒寄來的一筆美元。
她去首飾店買了一副耳環。在柜臺，店員仔細查看每張鈔票是不是真錢，搞得老太太不耐煩了。最后她等不下去了，就說：
