湯姆早晨有起不來床的毛病
Tom had this problem of getting up late in the morning and was always late for work. His boss was mad at him and threatened to fire him if he didn't do something about it. So Tom went to his doctor, doctor gave him some pill and told him to take it before he went to bed. Tom slept well, and in fact, beat alarmed in the morning. He had leisurely breakfast and drove cheerfully to work.
"Boss", he said, "The pill actually worked!"
"That's all fine" said boss, "But where were you yesterday?"
湯姆早晨有起不來床的毛病，老是上班遲到。老板對(duì)他很生氣，警告說，要這事兒再不改善就辭掉他。
湯姆就去找醫(yī)生，醫(yī)生給了他些藥，還告他在睡前吃。
湯姆睡得挺好，說實(shí)在的，早上鬧鐘沒響就起來了。他不慌不忙吃過早飯，滿心歡喜地開著車去上班。（beat alarmed 應(yīng)該是beat the alarm）
“老板，”他說，“那藥還真管用哎！”
“那就好，”老板說，“可昨天你人在哪兒呢？”
