英文標識笑話百出 趣解WC
這邊“××路”譯成“××lu”，那邊“××路”譯成“××road”，混亂的英文標識經常令老外“蒙查查”。
記者昨日從廣州市質監局獲悉，廣東首部《公共場所雙語標識英文譯法規范》(征求意見稿)即將出臺，并于7月起實施，路名地名今后將有地道統一的英文名字。如廁所不再叫“w.c”，統一譯為“toilet”。
英文標識笑話百出
廣州的英語標識混亂，為人詬病已久。廣州市質監局介紹，廣東省目前尚未有全省統一的公共場所標志英文譯法。目前不少公共場所雙語標識的譯法存在問題，有些英文譯法與中文原意相去甚遠。“中式英語標牌”、簡單語法的錯誤，會讓國際游客感到困惑，損害廣東現代、開放的國際形象。
有關人士介紹，廣州大部分的英語標識主要存在兩個問題：一是英語用詞不合適，前后不一致；二是很多英語標識仍然用的是“漢字打造法”，白云國際機場此前就被媒體曝光出英文標識的問題，如這邊的“停車樓”被翻譯為“parkinggarage”，而就在相隔不到20米的另一指示牌上，同樣是“停車樓”，卻被翻譯為“carparkbuilding”。在機場出發大廳，“前行30米”的標識直接翻譯成了“goahead30m”，按慣用方法，ahead后面不會跟名詞，令外國乘客十分別扭，甚至有點搞笑，其實最簡單而直接的表述應該是“30mahead”。
