英漢對照圣經(jīng)故事:創(chuàng)世記 Genesis
《圣經(jīng)》的首卷。卷名取自第一節(jié)，意為“開始”。記述猶太教和基督教創(chuàng)始的故事，以及以色列民族的歷史淵源。除了敘述上帝創(chuàng)造世界外，還包括亞當和夏娃、諾亞和洪水、巴別塔，以及上帝如何應許亞伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的故事，最后以雅各之子約瑟的故事結(jié)束。傳統(tǒng)上認為是摩西所作，但現(xiàn)代學者已驗明書中至少有三種文字語調(diào)，年代可溯自西元前950年至西元前5世紀，雖然其中還混雜有更早的資料。此卷是《舊約》的五書之一，它們構(gòu)成“摩西五經(jīng)”。
First book of the Bible. Its name， taken from its first verse， means “beginning.” Genesis provides the creation story for Judaism and Christianity and begins the history of the Israelite people. In addition to God's creation of the universe， it includes the story of Adam and Eve， Cain and Abel， Noah and the Flood， the Tower of Babel， and God's covenant with the three patriarchs， Abraham， Isaac， and Jacob， concluding with the story of Jacob's son Joseph. It is traditionally ascribed to Moses， but modern scholarship has identified at least three literary strains in it， dating from 950 BC to the 5th century BC， though incorporating material from much earlier. It is one of the five books of the Old Testament that make up the Pentateuch .
