Dear Mandy,
Hello. I ask for a pen pal in Canada. I hope you would like to be my pen friend.
My name is Jiang Fan. I’m a girl. I’m 14 years old. I have a lot of hobbies: reading books, playing computer, growing flowers, going shopping, swimming… I’m a student in BaoDai Experimental Primary School. Our school is very beautiful. There is a little garden in our school. In the little garden, there is a small lake. Its name is JingJi Lake. Around the lake, there are a lot of flowers and trees. After lunch, we often play in the little garden .The little garden is our paradise.
I live in Suzhou. It’s a water city， the Oriental Venice. Suzhou is not a big city. But there is a lot of water and many canals. Do you know Suzhou’s landscape gardens? They’re very famous; the 28th World Heritage Conference was convened in Suzhou. Maybe you can come to Suzhou, and play with me.
I have a happy family. It’s small: my father, my mother and I. My father was a navy. And he is a director of a factory now. He is working hard. He usually comes home at ten o’clock in the evening. My mother is a teacher of university. She teaches computer studies. She can cook delicious food. I love her. I will go to the middle school soon. I’m very busy now. I hope I can go to a good middle school.
I have not been to Canada. But I think I will go there soon. I will study hard. I think that live to learn, not learn to live; and to learn is to try to live better. I wish to conclude with a poem as follows:
No life is destined to be dark
If you fire it with spark of devotion
Success will not be the star hanging on the sky
Beautiful dream is not so difficult to true
Even though the road is long and mountain is high
We must forge ahead
As tomorrow is longer than yesterday!

我有一個幸福的家庭，不是很大，只有爸爸、媽媽和我三口人。我爸爸以前是一名海軍，現在在一家工廠的主任，他工作非常努力，常常是晚上10點才回到家。我媽媽是大學里的一名老師，她是教微機的，她的烹飪技術很高，我很愛她。我馬上就要讀中學了，現在我在忙于學習，希望能上一所好的中學。
我從未去過加拿大，但我深信總有一天我會去的，我一定要努力學習,我認為活著就要學習，學習不是為了活著，學習是為了活得更好。我想用下面的一首詩來結束我們的談話：
