Dear friends,
Hello! I’m Julia. I am a Chinese girl. My Chinese name is Pu Qianqian. This term, our school will have Canadian Culture Festival, so I have the chance to write to you.
I’m from China. I love our country and I’m proud of our county. It is big and nice. The capital of our country is Beijing. It is a great city. It’s in the center of China. Beijing is famous for the Great Wall. The Great Wall is a very great building indeed! Beijing has some other place of interest, such as: Summer Palace, Palace Museum and so on. Beijing will hold the Olympic games in 2008. So the people of China try their best to make the city beautiful and wonderful. A lot of people, both young and old, are learning to speak English; all of us want to do more for the Beijing Olympic Games. I hope you will tell me something about Ottawa.
I live in a nice city—Su Zhou. It is in the south of China. It is an old city with long history. There are a lot of landscape gardens. They are all very beautiful. Many tourists who visit the gardens all think Su Zhou nice. In Su Zhou, the busiest and the most prosperous street is Guan Qian Street. Everyday there are crowds of people. They’re walking and playing, shopping and sightseeing. At weekends, there are even more people. People not only in Su Zhou, but also from other parts of the country, and you can see some foreigners, too. I like those places, but I like Su Zhou better.
I have a lot of hobbies. They are reading books, playing computer, swimming and so on. I have a maxim:“every man has his faults.” I like this sentence. So when I fail in doing something, I never give up, and never stop trying. I believe that no matter how bleak or hopeless, if I try my best, I can get the success. I am a student in Grade 6; I will finish primary school soon and go to a middle school. I’ll study harder and I think I can go to a good middle school.

我是中國人,我很愛我的中國而且為我的國家感到驕傲,我國地大物博,北京是我們的首都,北京是一個偉大的城市,是中國的中心,北京長城聞名世界,長城的確是一個偉大的建筑物!北京還有一些名勝古跡,像頤和園、故宮等等。北京將在2008年舉辦奧林匹克運動會,所以我們中國人正全力以赴地把這個城市建設得更加繁榮昌盛.為了奧運會,北京人無論老少都在學習英語,希望能盡自己的一份力.我希望你也能給我講一些有關渥太華的事情.
我有很多的愛好.如讀書、打電腦、游泳等等。我的座右銘是：“每個人都會犯錯”，我喜歡這句話，所以當我失敗的時候，我從不放棄，并且絕不氣餒、不斷嘗試，我深信無論多么沮喪無助，只要我盡我所能，我一定會成功。我已經是六年級的學生，我馬上從小學畢業進入中學了，我將更加努力，這樣我就上一所好的中學。
