一、行動實踐類
1. Action speaks louder than words. 行動勝于語言。
2. Rome was not built in a day. 偉業非一日之功。
3. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. 千里之行始于足下。
4. Experience is the mother of wisdom. 實踐出真知。(mother是經典的表示“原因”的比喻，is the mother of也是一個經典句型。比如：Failure is the mother of success. 失敗是成功之母。)
5. Practice makes perfect. 熟能生巧。
6. Easier said than done. 說起來容易做起來難。(這句話沒有語法錯誤，只是省略了形式主語It is)
7. Seek the truth from facts. 實事求是。
二、思想志向類
1. Great minds think alike. 英雄所見略同。
2. Look before you leap. 三思而后行。
3. Where there is a will，there is a way. 有志者事竟成。
4. Nothing seek，nothing find. 沒有追求，就沒有收獲。
三、個人修養類
1. All that glitters is not gold. 閃光的未必都是金子。
2. Beauty without virtue is a rose without fragrance. 無德之類猶如沒有香味的玫瑰，徒有其表。(類似漢語中的：金玉其外敗絮其中。)
3. God helps those who help themselves. 自助者天助。
4. A small mistake will trigger huge consequences. 失之毫厘，謬之千里。
5. Nothing is difficult to the man who will try. 世上無難事，只要肯攀登。
6. Nothing is to be got without pains but poverty. 世上唯有貧窮可以不勞而獲。
7. One boy is a boy，two boys half a boy，three boys no boy. 一個和尚打水吃，兩個和尚抬水吃，三個和尚沒水吃。(這句漢語諺語用英語竟然是這樣翻譯的~~~orz)
8. Take things as they come. 既來之則安之。
四、工作學習類
1. It’s never too old to learn. 活到老學到老。
2. More hasty，less speed. 欲速則不達。
3. All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. 只工作不玩耍，聰明孩子也變傻。
4. One cannot put back the clock. 時鐘不能倒轉。
5. One hour today is worth two tomorrow. 爭分奪秒效率高。
6. Please the eye and plague the heart. 貪圖一時快活，必然留下隱禍。
7. Success belongs to the persevering. 堅持就是勝利。(the+a.表示一類人，在這里the persevering表示堅持的人)
8. Health is better than wealth，health is happiness. 健康勝過財富，健康就是幸福。
