Today’s is a marvelously mobile world in which everybody seems to be forever on the way. A man working in a small city of the U.S. now may move to London next year. Then why people do not stay on in the same place, as they did before, butmigrate from place to place instead?

The frequent migration results, in the first place, from the fact that people today often change their jobs. The emergence of new technologies brings about many jobs that people can perform without having to go through many years of training, which makes it possible for people to switch their jobs halfway in their career. But even when people are doing the same kind of job, they may also move from one city to another, perhaps for a higher pay, or family reunion and many other reasons. Besides, many people keep moving simply because they want to experience the different cultures and customs. According to them, living in India offers a totally different experience than living in Japan, and life, in their definition, would be intolerably boring without these personal experiences. Finally, some people are forced to move even though they do not want to. With the urbanization going on, for instance, quite many people have to leave their home because it is no longer a place suitable to them.
