　　Nowadays various kinds of news coverage on foodcontamination has been heard of. People are in thefear ofthe milk food contamination, the poisonousfish, the pesticide-left vegetables and so on. Somepeople blame it for those companies’ lack ofresponsibilities, and others criticize the government.In my opinion, as the governor and supervisor of the food safety, government has unshirkableresponsibility for food contamination.

　　現(xiàn)如今，人們聽(tīng)到了許多關(guān)于食品污染的報(bào)道。人們對(duì)牛奶污染，有毒魚(yú)類，殘留蔬菜恐懼。人們認(rèn)為這都是企業(yè)不負(fù)責(zé)任的表現(xiàn)，還有一些人把責(zé)任怪罪于政府。我認(rèn)為，作為食品安全的管理者和監(jiān)督者，政府在食品污染問(wèn)題上責(zé)無(wú)旁貸。

　　On the one hand, the governmental institutions don’t perform their duty of supervision well.Citizens paytaxes for the service of the government. So the latter has the responsibility for thefood safety of everyperson. They should develop stringent standards for food safety, andstrictly examine the products of every company on schedule. But if they are serious about theirduty, how can so many cases come out? It is because of their act of omission that thecondemned food enters the market. The customers are disappointed again and again, andthey will not trust the quality supervision departments any more. The governmentshouldsquarely face the problem and take a down-to-earth attitude toward it.

　　一方面，政府沒(méi)有履行好檢查的職責(zé)。公民對(duì)政府的服務(wù)交稅。所以，政府就有責(zé)任來(lái)為食品安全負(fù)責(zé)。他們應(yīng)該為食品安全制定嚴(yán)格的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，并嚴(yán)格地檢驗(yàn)企業(yè)的所有產(chǎn)品。如果政府嚴(yán)格執(zhí)法，那為什么還會(huì)有這么多的案件發(fā)生呢?這是因?yàn)樵跈z查污染食品的過(guò)程中出現(xiàn)了疏忽。消費(fèi)者再一次失望透頂，他們?cè)僖膊粫?huì)相信監(jiān)管部門(mén)的監(jiān)管了。政府應(yīng)該面對(duì)問(wèn)題，并采取實(shí)事求是的態(tài)度。

　　On the other hand, the government didn’t take decisive and effective actions to thoroughlyrectify and regulate the order of the food market. Most of the food contamination cases aretreated after the media coverage that those cases are not seized by the governmentalinstitutions. It is believed that the examining techniques and methods of government areadvanced, but they are blind to the illegal act. If the media and the public didn’t put pressureon them, they would go on escaping from the reality. What’s more, the related law should beenforced. The criminal knew clearly the harm of the contaminated food to people, but hestilldid the misdeeds. Because the punishment for food contamination is not serious, and theprofits are much higher than producing standard goods, this kind of crime is repeated. There isan urgent need to strengthen food monitoring and intensify legislation and itsimplementation.

　　從另一方面講，政府沒(méi)有采取有效地行動(dòng)來(lái)檢驗(yàn)和管理食品市場(chǎng)的秩序。大多數(shù)的食品污染問(wèn)題都是在報(bào)道之后才做出處理的，在這之前，這些問(wèn)題并沒(méi)有得到政府的管理。人們相信政府的檢測(cè)技術(shù)非常先進(jìn)，但是他們卻對(duì)不法行為視而不見(jiàn)。如果媒體和公眾沒(méi)有對(duì)他們施加壓力，那么，他們將逃避現(xiàn)實(shí)。更重要的是，政府應(yīng)該加強(qiáng)對(duì)相應(yīng)法律的監(jiān)管力度。罪犯了解食品污染對(duì)人們的危害，但是他們?nèi)匀讳b而走險(xiǎn)。這是因?yàn)閼土P措施不嚴(yán)厲，生產(chǎn)污染食品的利益要遠(yuǎn)高于生產(chǎn)優(yōu)質(zhì)產(chǎn)品的利益。這樣的犯罪將持續(xù)發(fā)生。我們急需要加強(qiáng)對(duì)食品的監(jiān)管力度，并加強(qiáng)立法和實(shí)施法律的力度。

　　Food is the first necessity of people. The government has the responsibility to protect everycitizen and regulate the food market. Throughout the country we must resolutely implementthe following principles: the law must be observed, law enforcement must be strict, law-breakers must be dealt with accordingly and all persons are equal before the law. Only in thisway can the government perform its duty and people enjoy the food safely.

　　食品是人們不可或缺的。政府有責(zé)任來(lái)保護(hù)每一位公民的安全，并對(duì)食品市場(chǎng)進(jìn)行管理。我們必須全面執(zhí)行以下措施：遵守法律，執(zhí)法嚴(yán)格，依法問(wèn)責(zé)，法律面前人人平等。只有這樣，政府才能履行責(zé)任，讓公民享受安全食品。
