附注：D.H勞倫斯是20世紀英國文學史乃至世界文學史上一位舉足輕重的作家，也是20世紀英國最獨特和最有爭議的作家之一．他筆下有很多膾炙人口的名篇，其中<<查泰來夫人的情人>>（1928），<<兒子與情人>>，<<虹>>（1915）等都有譯本．國內讀者和學者大多把注意點落在他的小說上，事實上他的詩歌也同樣值得重視．他詩歌的特點是把客觀敘述與主觀意象疊合，具有較強的隱喻性，屬于典型的意象派風格，讀者可以從這首<<在船上>>窺見其意象風格的延續．
