1.背口訣記單詞
有一個rat（老鼠）
非常地fat（肥胖）
跳進了vat（缸）*
偷吃了salt（鹽）
變成了bat（蝙蝠）
氣壞了cat（貓）

2.識音標，記單詞
rat n.老鼠，不忠實的人（like a rat in a hole像洞中之鼠，喻陷于絕境）； vi.背叛，背信（常與on連用），捕鼠（The dog went ratting狗去捉老鼠）；smell a rat覺得可疑。
fat n.脂肪，油脂；adj.肥大的，費用巨大的a fat price（很大的代價）； vi長肥（fatted，，fatting）；get fat發胖； The fat is in the fire（事情弄得不可收拾了）。
vat n……大桶大缸（rotting vat發酵甕）；vt.把……裝入大桶（vatted，vatting）；VAT（大寫）增值稅，附加價值稅Price includes VAT（價格包括稅額）.
salt n.食鹽，俏皮話，刺激：a talk full of talk富有風趣的談話； adj.咸的salt beef （咸牛肉），尖刻的，費用過高的；vt.給……加鹽；給……調味； That 's rather too salt！（太貴了！ ）。
bat n.蝙蝠，球拍vt.用棒球擊打，用球拍打球（batted； batting），眨眼（He heard the bad news without batting an eyelid.他聽到這個壞的消息絲毫沒動聲色）。
cat n .貓；vt.（catted； catting）起錨，嘲弄（catting around with every lady in sight跟見到的每個女人勾搭）；cat-sleep打盹，cat's-paw被人利用的人，Dog my cats！見鬼！他媽的；我可以賭咒！a cat with nine lives（有九條命的貓；富有生命力的人）； That cat won't jump（這一手行不通）。
hat n.有邊的帽子，職權地（wears two hats one as parent and one as corporate executive雙重身份――既是父母又是法人代表）；vt.給……戴上帽子（hatted，hatting）； I'll eat my hat ……（假若……我情愿受罰），get /into/ the hat（進退兩難），My hat！（哎呀！好家伙！）。
mat n.墊子，草席，蹭腳墊；vt.， vi.（matted； matting）在……上鋪席，纏結；leave someone on the mat（拒絕接待某人）。

rat――在rat后面加e就變為：rate n.比率；vt.估價，斥責
salt――在salt后加y變為：salty adj.咸的，尖銳的
bat――在bat加e后變為：bate vt.減弱，減少，抑制
hat――在hat前加sun變為：sunhat遮陽帽mat――在mat后加h變為：math n.數學， mathematics數學
