金發美女
我們來看幾個笑話，看看大家明白不明白?
問: How do you amuse a blonde for hours? (怎樣可以為金發女郎提供消遣、讓她自娛自樂？)
答: Write 'Please turn over' on both sides of a piece of paper. （只要在一張紙的兩邊都寫上 “翻到紙的另一面”就行了。）
問: How do you confuse a blonde? （怎樣能把金發女郎搞得一頭霧水？）
答:Put them in a round room and tell them to sit in the corner. （你只要把她們放在一個圓形的屋子里，然后讓她們找一個角落坐下就行了。）
問: how does a blonde try to kill a bird? （金發女怎樣來殺一只鳥？）
答: she throws it off a cliff! （她將她扔下懸崖。）
在美國，有一個笑話的分類叫做blonde Joke. blonde 在英語作為名詞常指那些金色頭發的人，尤直金發女郎。以上的笑話大家估計看出來一個共同點，那就是把blonde說成像個傻子，弱智。對了，沒錯，美國人總覺得金發女郎一般都不聰明，dumb (愚蠢），air-headed (腦子里全是空氣，指的也是愚笨的意思），是經常用來形容blonde的。和我們中文里的“胸大無腦”有幾分相似。所以我們就有了以下的這個笑話：
問: What do smart blondes and UFO's have in common? （聰明的金發女們與不明飛行物有什么共同點？）
答: You always hear about them but never see them. （你從來都只是聽說過它們（她們），但卻從來沒有見過。）
美國的媒體也是經常這樣渲染金發美女的。看過“legally blond（律政俏佳人)”的就會知道在美國人看來，一個金發美女進哈佛念書就是件不可思議的事情。
而美國人的另外一種流行觀點是深褐色頭發的女人都是比較聰明的。這種頭發顏色的女人的英文說法是brunette。所以我們又有了以下的笑話：
問: What do you call it when a blonde dies her hair brunette? （你管那些把頭發染成棕褐色的金發女郎叫做什么？）
答: Artificial intelligence. （人工智能）
大家應該有不少人看過AI這部電影，譯名就是“人工智能”。但是artificial 除了人工的意思之外，還有另外一個意思，那就是虛假的。這個笑話所蘊含的文化點就是金頭發女郎很蠢，染成了深褐色頭發，虛假智能了一回，因為深褐色頭發的女孩子是聰明的。
金發女郎除了有愚笨的名聲之外，還有性感，甚至是放蕩（slutty)。下面有一個小小的黃色笑話，如果大家不理解就算了，有點少兒不宜。
Q. What did the blondes right leg say to the left leg? (一個金發女的左腿會對她的右腿說什么？）
A. Nothing, they haven't met! （什么都沒說，因為它們還沒見過面呢）。
盡管如此，美國男士還是對金發美女充滿了幻想。現在在美國很火的希爾頓酒店老板的女兒Paris Hilton又以她自己的實際行動印證了人們對于blonds的成見。
你可能還聽說過另外一個以頭發顏色來形容女孩子的詞語叫做“red-head (紅發女郎）”。提到紅發女郎，美國人眼中的形象就是臉上長了不少雀斑(freckles)，皮膚蒼白(pale)，脾氣不好(hot-tempered)，而且通常比較獨立，有主見。大家有沒有想到誰？對了，《欲望都市》中的超級女強人Miranda就是一個紅發女郎。
在《絕望主婦》中超級會持家的Bree也是一個紅發女。
而在《欲望都市》中，那個聰明的，有修養的，在畫廊工作的，超有品位的Charlotte就是一個brunett。
美國媒體在迎合大眾成見、偏見上一點都不含糊，不加以制止，反而是火上澆油。
有時候美國人在形容女孩子們的時候會根據她們的頭發顏色而加以區別。如果你問某個老美他們在談論哪個女孩子的時候，他們的回答很有可能是：“We are talking about that blonde..or that brunette, or that red-head.” 但是由于亞洲女孩子一般這幾類都算不上，所以對我們的統稱就是“that Asian girl.”。
美國人還有關于警察的stereotype:
在美國，有個有趣的說法：警察喜歡吃donuts(炸的，甜甜的面包圈）。在美國有一部由美國黑人男星Samuel Jackson主演的電影《Shaft》中有這樣一幕。影片中的警察Shaft問一個小弟弟，為什么他想做警察。還沒等他回答，鏡頭就推向了放在他旁邊的donuts上，于是答案不言而喻。
