Bicycles are the most common transportation means for Chinese people. China is known as the kingdom of bicycles. In big cities， many people ride bicycles to work. In countryside， many peasants use bicycles to send agricultural products to the market.

One important reason why bicycles are popu lar in China is that they are cheap， for bicycles do not need any supply of gas or oil， and consequently they do not cause any pollution. The low price makes it become the favorite trans portation tool of ordinary people ， and play an important part in our everyday life.
