Hi everybody. In my State of the Union Address, I said that the best measure of opportunity is access to a good job. And after the worst recession of our lifetimes, our businesses have created eight and a half million new jobs in the last four years. But we need to do more to make America a magnet for good jobs for the future. And in this year of action, where Congress won't do that, I will do whatever I can to expand opportunity for more Americans. This week, I took two actions to attract new jobs to America—jobs in American manufacturing, and jobs rebuilding America's infrastructure. Here's why this is important. In the 2000s alone, we lost more than 1/3 of all American manufacturing jobs.1/3, and when the housing bubble burst, workers in the construction industry were hit harder than just about anybody.
大家好。在我的國(guó)情咨文中，我說(shuō)過(guò)機(jī)會(huì)的最好衡量標(biāo)準(zhǔn)就是能否使更多的人得到好工作。經(jīng)歷了我們一生中最嚴(yán)重的一次衰退后，最近四年中，我們的經(jīng)濟(jì)已經(jīng)創(chuàng)造了850萬(wàn)個(gè)新工作。但是我們需要做更多努力使美國(guó)在未來(lái)成為吸引新工作的磁石。在這個(gè)行動(dòng)年，國(guó)會(huì)不想做這方面的工作，但是我會(huì)盡己所能為更多美國(guó)人創(chuàng)造就業(yè)機(jī)會(huì)。這周，我采取了兩項(xiàng)行動(dòng)來(lái)為美國(guó)吸引新工作機(jī)會(huì)，一是在美國(guó)的制造業(yè)，另一是在重建基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施的行業(yè)。 下面我講的是這之所以重要的原因。就只在20世紀(jì)，我們失去了超過(guò)三分之一的美國(guó)制造業(yè)崗位。三分之一啊，當(dāng)房地產(chǎn)泡沫破裂時(shí)，建筑工業(yè)工人比其他各行業(yè)的人受打擊都重。
