austrian general raimund montecuccoli, noted for his military exploits in the thirty years wars （ 1618-1648 ） , was a pious catholic. stopping one friday evening at an inn, the general ordered an omelette with a little ham sliced up in it. as the dish was presented to him, there was a sudden clap of thunder and a storm began. without a second thought the general got up, went to the window and threw the ham omelette out into the rain. looking up at the storm clouds overhead he commented, "what a lot of fuss over a piece of ham."
三 十 年 戰 爭 （ 一 六 一 八 年 至 一 六 四 八 年 ） 之 中 ， 奧 地 利 將 領 賴 蒙 德 ． 蒙 泰 庫 科 利 戰 功 彪 炳 ， 名 震 一 時 。 他 是 位 虔 誠 天 主 徒 ， 一 個 星 期 五 晚 上 ， 到 客 棧 投 宿 ， 要 一 個 炒 蛋 ， 蛋 中 雜 少 許 碎 火 腿 。 炒 蛋 端 上 時， 忽 然 雷 聲 大 作 ， 風 暴 降 臨 。 蒙 泰 庫 科 利 毫 不 猶 豫 站 起 來 ， 走 到 窗 前 ， 把 火 腿 炒 蛋倒 在 雨 中 ， 抬 頭 望 滿 天 烏 云 說 ： 「 不 過 一 片 火 腿 罷 了 ， 怎 么 這 樣 小 題 大 做 。 」
