in 1940 the raf was a multinational unit, with czechs, poles and americans adding their skills to the british flyers. unfortunately, the general public was unaware of this. one day, a pilot was forced to bale out of a fighter plane over london and came down by parachute, landing in a crowded street. he was injured, and jabbered away in some foreign tongue to the people who gathered around him. thinking that he was a german and infuriated by raids on civilian targets in london, they beat him to death. tragically, they learned too late that he was polish, and a member of the raf.
一九 四 ○ 年 ， 英 國 皇 家 空 軍 是 一 支 多 國 族 軍 隊 ， 有 捷 克 人 、 波 蘭 人 、 美 國 人 等 和 英 國飛 行 員 合 力 ， 可 惜 一 般 民 眾 并 不 知 道 。 有 一 天 ， 一 位 戰 機 飛 行 員 被 迫 跳 傘 逃 生 ， 落在 倫 敦 繁 忙 的 街 道 上 。 他 受 了 傷 ， 操 外 國 語 向 圍 攏 過 來 的 路 人 嘰 哩 咕 嚕 說 話 。 那 些 人 以 為 他 是 德 國 飛 行 員 ， 恨 德 國 空 襲倫 敦 民 房 ， 把 他 活 活 打 死 了 。 后 來 ， 他 們 知 道 打 死 的 是 波 蘭 人 ， 而 且 是 皇 家 空 軍 成員 ， 懊 悔 無 及 。
