No Sale
"Is your mother home？" the salesman asked a small boy.
"Yeah, she's home," the boy said, walking past him.
The salesman rang the doorbell and got no response. He knocked once, then once again. Still no one came to the door. Turning to the boy, the salesman said, "I thought you said your mother was home??？"
The boy replied, "She is； but this isn't where I live."
推銷員問一個小男孩:“你媽媽在家嗎？”
“在,她在家?！毙∧泻⒒卮鸬?走過推銷員身邊。
推銷員按了一下門鈴,沒有人應門。他又敲了敲門,還是沒有人應。推銷員轉過身來問這個男孩:“我想你剛才說你媽媽在家的！”
男孩回答到:“她是在家。但是這里不是我家?！?/p>
Two Places
Jenny: "If you broke your arm in two places, what would you do？“
Bob: "I wouldn't go back to those two places, that's for sure."
Jenny:“要是你的胳膊摔斷了兩處,你會怎么辦？”
Bob:“我不會再去那兩個地方了,這是一定的?！?/p>
注:Jenny的本意是“胳膊摔斷了兩處”,但Bob理解成“在兩個不同的地方摔斷”了。
