決死雄師
in 480 bc, the spartan king leonidas, with three hundred of his soldiers, met the invading persian forces at thermopylae. the persian envoy urged him to surrender. "our archers are so numerous that the flight of their arrows darkens the sun," he said. "so much the better," leonidas replied. we'll then fight in the shade." he and his men were subsequently all killed, and their epitaph read: "go, stranger, and tell the spartans that here we lie, obedient to their commands."
公元前四八○年，斯巴達王李奧尼大率三百士兵，在塞摩比利山口迎戰入侵的波斯軍。波斯使者促他投降：「我們射手如云，引弓發箭，足以遮天蔽日?！估願W尼大回答說：「那更好。我們可在陰涼中作戰?！顾麄冏詈笕姼矝]，有墓志銘說：「煩爾行客，往告斯巴達人：吾曹此地長埋，幸未辱命。」
