Surprise for Susie
Susie ran upstairs and into the bedroom calling： “Miss Tibbs， Miss Tibbs.”
“She must be locked in a cupboard，” Susie said to her mother.
“But we've looked in all the cupboards. You'll just have to be patient， Susie. Miss Tibbs will come home soon.”
“But it's three days now since she went away，” said Susie. Slowly she walked outside.
Susie went to watch her father milking the cow.
“Betsy，” she said. “Have you seen Miss Tibbs？” Betsy the cow swished her tail and softly said， “Moo.”
“Will you bring a little hay in for Betsy please， Susie？” asked her father. Susie walked slowly to the barn. She was sure Miss Tibbs would never come back.
Slowly she opened the big door. Then she stopped. What was that？ A tiny noise. Was it a mouse？ Susie peered in.
There on the soft hay in a corner was Miss Tibbs， and beside her were three tiny kittens. Spot gave a bark of excitement. Susie ran back to her father， with Spot still at her heels.
“Come and see， Daddy-Miss Tibbs was got three babies.”
Miss Tibbs met them at the barn door and proudly showed them her new family. What a wonderful surprise it was for everyone-especially Susie！
