舊約 -- 箴言(Proverbs) -- 第10章
10：1 所羅門的箴言。智慧之子，使父親歡樂。愚昧之子，叫母親擔憂。
The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father： but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
10：2 不義之財，毫無益處。惟有公義，能救人脫離死亡。
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing： but righteousness delivereth from death.
10：3 耶和華不使義人受饑餓。惡人所欲的他必推開。
The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish： but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
10：4 手懶的要受貧窮。手勤的卻要富足。
He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand： but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
10：5 夏天聚斂的，是智慧之子。收割時沉睡的，是貽羞之子。
He that gathereth in summer is a wise son： but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
10：6 福祉臨到義人的頭。強暴蒙蔽惡人的口。
Blessings are upon the head of the just： but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
10：7 義人的紀念被稱贊。惡人的名字必朽爛。
The memory of the just is blessed： but the name of the wicked shall rot.
10：8 心中智慧的，必受命令。口里愚妄的，必致傾倒。
The wise in heart will receive commandments： but a prating fool shall fall.
10：9 行正直路的，步步安穩。走彎曲道的，必致敗露。
He that walketh uprightly walketh surely： but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
10：10 以眼傳神的，使人憂患?？诶镉尥?，必致傾倒。
He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow： but a prating fool shall fall.
10：11 義人的口是生命的泉源。強暴蒙蔽惡人的口。
The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life： but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
10：12 恨能挑啟爭端。愛能遮掩一切過錯。
Hatred stirreth up strifes： but love covereth all sins.
10：13 明哲人嘴里有智慧。無知人背上受刑杖。
In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found： but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
10：14 智慧人積存知識。愚妄人的口速致敗壞。
Wise men lay up knowledge： but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
10：15 富戶的財物，是他的堅城。窮人的貧乏，是他的敗壞。
The rich man's wealth is his strong city： the destruction of the poor is their poverty.
10：16 義人的勤勞致生。惡人的進項致死。（死原文作罪）
The labour of the righteous tendeth to life： the fruit of the wicked to sin.
10：17 謹守訓誨的，乃在生命的道上。違棄責備的，便失迷了路。
He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction： but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
10：18 隱藏怨恨的，有說謊的嘴。口出讒謗的，是愚妄的人。
He that hideth hatred with lying lips， and he that uttereth a slander， is a fool.
10：19 多言多語難免有過。禁止嘴唇是有智慧。
In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin： but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
10：20 義人的舌，乃似高銀。惡人的心，所值無幾。
The tongue of the just is as choice silver： the heart of the wicked is little worth.
10：21 義人的口教養多人。愚昧人因無知而死亡。
The lips of the righteous feed many： but fools die for want of wisdom.
10：22 耶和華所賜的福，使人富足。并不加上憂慮。
The blessing of the LORD， it maketh rich， and he addeth no sorrow with it.
10：23 愚妄人以行惡為戲耍。明哲人卻以智慧為樂。
It is as sport to a fool to do mischief： but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
10：24 惡人所怕的必臨到他。義人所愿的必蒙應允。
The fear of the wicked， it shall come upon him： but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
10：25 暴風一過，惡人歸于無有。義人的根基卻是永久。
As the whirlwind passeth， so is the wicked no more： but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
10：26 懶惰人叫差他的人，如醋倒牙，如煙薰目。
As vinegar to the teeth， and as smoke to the eyes， so is the sluggard to them that send him.
10：27 敬畏耶和華，使人日子加多。但惡人的年歲必被減少。
The fear of the LORD prolongeth days： but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
10：28 義人的盼望，必得喜樂。惡人的指望，必至滅沒。
The hope of the righteous shall be gladness： but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
10：29 耶和華的道，是正直人的保障。卻成了作孽人的敗壞。
The way of the LORD is strength to the upright： but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
10：30 義人永不挪移。惡人不得住在地上。
The righteous shall never be removed： but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
10：31 義人的口，滋生智慧。乖謬的舌，必被割斷。
The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom： but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
10：32 義人的嘴，能令人喜悅。惡人的口，說乖謬的話。
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable： but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
